Land's last output was a lot better than what he had been doing. So maybe he's giving up the obvious tracing!

It's not just that he's lazy, his work's downright insulting! Glenn Fabry published a sketchbook years ago that showed he used bodybuilders and gymnasts as his anatomy references for, you know, superheroines. Using porn for people capable of incredible physical feats is like you're just straight-up saying "this is the only context in which I ever see women's bodies." Ugh.

The worst thing is that Land being on it will probably mean it'll last longer than Agent of S.W.O.R.D. did. (Well, maybe...Bendis is probably a bigger draw than Land is).

There's a reason Hopeless and Bunn constantly get their books cancelled (cos they are neither good nor can get a following).

I want to see a Hopeless/Land collab just because of how absolutely terrible it would be in all aspects.

I thought he had a pretty long run after Remender left. I remember Bunn most from all those Deadpool miniseries and those seemed to do all right. Hopeless moved straight from AA to AU so I don't really see that as a cancellation. What are all the books you're talking about? Venom ran a bit after Bunn took over and certainly wasn't a short run. But Venom or anything Spider related is going to have a built in fan base that'll keep it running for a while. His Magneto series is really good. He isn't a horrible writer by any means but for the most part, his work is usually sub par or average.

Bunn is exceptional when it comes to creator owned, look at Helheim and Sixth Gun. Just stay away from him in big 2 stuff. He's incredibly inconsistent with the only exceptional thing he's done there is Magneto.

Spider-Man 100th Anniversary had great art, and it was okay for a one-shot, but it doesn't feel like it blew me away. It was good but not Amazing, but still worth a read if you can. I'm not giving Slott any money so I didn't read Spider-Man 2099

I liked Spider-Man 2099 #1 well enough. Peter David certainly loves using characters from 2211. Not really sure what the point of this series is yet, though. I miss the 2099 setting and hope it ends up going back there eventually, because the stuff about preventing his grandfather from dying and trying to make him a better person doesn't seem like it could go on that long and stay interesting. The end of the issue hints that something important will happen in this timeline because of O'Hara though, so I trust there's a plan in place. Just good to see David returning to the character.

Spider-Man 2099 was surprisingly nice though I'm not a fan of Liz Allan: Evil CEO and Sliney is my least favorite regular Marvel artist that's not Land. Superior Foes was great albeit not the funniest issue in the series. Silvermane and Shocker play off of each other so well though that I don't care.

Spider-man 2099 was so nice I was thinking the art wasn't too bad, but then that future guy burst from the wall and I couldn't believe how bad Miguel being knocked away looked.

Beetle's line about her life not passing the Bechdel test was great, but otherwise, yeah, kind of a plot-heavy, joke-light issue. It'll be nice to have the Shocker stuff dovetail with the rest of the characters again next month. As with Hawkeye, I feel like delays and fill-ins have made the last couple of issues feel a bit more disjointed and jumpy than they otherwise would.

Superior Spider-Man 17-19. Miguel appears in other issues after that but that's the story that sets up his status quo for the solo series.

Honestly I really hated 2099. Maybe because I was actually hoping it was going to be set in 2099, I read nothing before hand. More than anything, the future killer just randomly murdering civilians because they had no kids was really loving stupid. I can handle comic booky craziness and stuff, but you can't have a dude whose whole mission is to kill someone to preserve the timeline and just have him randomly murdering people. Gotta imagine that would gently caress up the future pretty hard even if they didn't have kids.
