It's taken a lot of the charm out of driving them too, the old ones you could get to almost oversteer if the road camber was right because one wheel would be trying to take off and it would load up the others, but now the thing is so huge that the wheels are basically planted all the time. There's one corner on the way from Beachlands to Auckland where you can drift around it in our Clubman because the left rear just isn't touching the ground. Seriously everyone should drive an old Mini at some point, it's just the best.

xzzy posted:Aren't they absurdly expensive, especially in America where not as many of them were sold? They're absurdly expensive everywhere these days You'll pay $20k NZD for a late 90s Cooper. Of course if your import laws don't suck then the best thing to do is import one from Japan - they seem to be relatively rust-free (well, as rust free as Minis get, etc).

Canada might be a good place to look too, my garage ornament is a 1980 Canadian export model. A well kept Cooper or early model is going to be expensive no matter what.

They're fairly expensive for what they are, I guess that's one reason why the owners are known for reminding everyone they're built by BMW. Nothing about them really stands out at me, especially when the decently fast ones start at 35 grand.

Or at least they would have been if everyone hadn't been on strike. No one knows who actually made any of the old Minis. But that isn't to say you can't go hilariously overboard on the A Series engines either: http://www.twinkam.co.uk/shop/artic...aid%3DSCE002%26 quote:230+bhp 1293cc/1310cc 16V Full Race – Intecooled (Please call us for exact specification)

The basic goal is to see the RX7 travel down to FL. If it gets relayed that far, then ultimateforce gets it for free. Or some insanely cheap price. The idea was to see how cheap it'd have to be for too crazy to become too crazy not to buy. IOC was actually ok with it, but I managed to sell it locally.

It better run on rainbows and wishes or there will still be no reason to consent to drive something barely bigger than a fanny pack for such mediocre fuel economy.

About the only thing they have going for them is that they are very short, but a Toyota iQ is only a foot longer, and feels better in every way, while the Aygo/C1 is two feet longer, but although suffering from obvious cost-cutting on materials, is a genuinely cheap car, so you don't mind as much.

Well if it's a nice interior in a small car you want the obvious choice is the Cygnet Of course, "cheap" might go out the window a little bit but hey! Who cares if it's an iQ underneath right? AirRaid fucked around with this message at 09:57 on Jul 13, 2014 |

A LHD Acura NSX in Japan (where they were all sold on the Honda label), last registered up in Kobe going by it's plates, but now sitting at a used sports car pro shop in the south of Japan. Almost pristine stock interior except for a rollcage. I'd have loved to hear the story behind it but being a dealership they probably weren't interested in talking if I wasn't interested in buying. I took a few more pictures at that shop but it was mostly late 90s early 00s JDM stuff that you've all seen a hundred times before.

(from a friend's facebook post) Now, I know what y'all are going to say, "wrong thread" etc., but you know what? It's a loving stupid dragon tearing rear end through a bright yellow porker turbo, and not only is it funny as hell (though I'm sure that wasn't the owner's intent), it makes Porsche fans angry which is even better.
