From what I understand, they actually wanted to create a new character, but launching a new character who is a woman in her own franchise would have been suicide, so they're having this lady be Thor for a while before she leaves to do her own thing.

I love this Thor poo poo because it sure fits a hell of a lot better to the actual Ásatrú then most of the comics idiocy. They don't even get him being ginger right. Hell, one of the most famous stories about Þór involves him crossdressing with Loki and going to "his" own wedding to get Mjölnir back. Seeing as Mjölnir is pretty much just an extended penis metaphor, this comic side emasculation is nothing but a return to the source.

Except Sarkeesian has absolutely no reason to make it up. The likelihood it is real so far outweighs the likelihood that its fake that its really bizarre to take that stance. edit: the only reason you are saying its fake is because you want it to be, not that you have a reason to think it is.
