Except for the fact that they very obviously stated the reason that the group was moving so slowly in the first place was because of the movement penalty that the Minigun Dude had.

Yea. Strength only determines what you can carry, and speed is calculated afterwards based on carry weight. A Dark Souls system, essentially.

The second story arc is generally regarded as by far the worst. It was written when Kawahara wasn't really sure if the property would succeed, so it was styled in a generic LN continuation manner. After SAO's success, he basically did whatever he wanted and, while there's certainly issues, it's much better for that.

The whole 2nd core can be fairly safely skipped, by just watching the last eps in season one. This will cause a few plot holes, but you can fill them in with whatever headcanon you want and it will have basically no impact on the overall story.

I was recently rereading the Phantom Bullet books and at the speed they are going through the GGO arc I think we should be through the first book of Phantom Bullet by episode 6 or 7, and another 6 or 7 for book two so 12-14 episodes. Considering that the season is supposed to be 24 episodes long we should definitely be getting Mothers Rosario and possibly Calibur before that, and they probably will do Calibur since it has more Sinon in it. edit: Then we can get a season 3 with the Alicization arc.

Well, that was quick. I kinda expected them to drag things out more, but nope Kirito outs himself as a guy already, meets Death Gun and gets a clue to the guy's origin. I guess after jamming on the brakes for the first few episodes they finally remembered where the gas pedal is.

Death Gun apparently being a Laughing Coffin member from SAO is really groovy and really adds to the story's sense of continuity.

Dexo posted:Luke would have done that with out the Bullet Line system assisting him Actually true! Kirito is making due with at best making really good guesses based on experience and metagaming the prediction lines system since 90% of the time the other players are playing the game like you're 'supposed' to. In Star Wars the Force is basically psychic precognition. So I imagine anyone skilled who knows this could use the prediction lines and then try to trick Kirito by somehow maybe doing something else I don't know; you can't do that in SW iirc. ^ | Pfft, proper binaural processing (sound card/in-game) with actual honest-to-good stereo headphones is better than any "surround sound" headset. (I think I've seen reasoning for this like how it's impossible to reproduce a proper spatial environment for surround sound within the enclosed space of a headphone or something). Hopefully Death Gun has better motivation than "I want to feel super-powered evil guy/You killed my buddy in SAO".
