It's bizarre to hear Southern Baptists try to take credit for the Abolitionist movement, when they were in fact the ones rallying against it.

This is absolutely correct, abortion is a bigger threat to American lives than every enemy we have fought combined. It's time to quit pussyfooting around; we need to go farther than we did even against Hitler and Hirohito to defeat it.
  • 90% top tax rate to fund the massive War on Abortion.
  • Huge investments in condom factories, birth control pill manufacturing, contraception of all kinds to be sent to the Front.
  • Strict rationing of all war materiél: latex, copper, sponges, pharmaceutical products so our new industries will never want for raw material
  • A neverending Marshall Plan to provide funds for natal care, medical expenses, and childcare so no woman aborts out of financial necessity
  • Expansive conscription to draft, train, and deploy personnel to the warfront as educators, nurses, doctors, and contraception distributors
  • Airlifts to serve even the remotest areas and to bring in women who live too far from clinics.
  • Legalizing gay marriage and gay adoption everywhere along with a massive propaganda campaign to encourage couples to adopt
  • Pour funds into the Manhattan Project II, researching the most advanced megaton contraceptives

Nah, just kidding. We're just going to shut down clinics and tell people even harder not to have sex, that's the ticket :effort:

Similar to what Chantilly Say said: History books already view him as a "good guy" (and a black one at that) and it would be useless to try tearing him down. So the right tries to make him one of theirs, even if their actions and views were diametrically opposed to modern conservatives'. See also: MLKJ, Lincoln, Jesus.

Meanwhile they prefer to spend their time trying to smear contemporary blacks upon whom history books haven't quite settled yet (Obama, Sharpton, Oprah, Holder, etc.).

Use the anger. Use it.
Today's program was pretty crazy

quote:

RUSH: Impeachment, I'll tell you. We've been back and forth and upside down on this. But I think there's an aspect to this the Democrats are not thinking of. And even in the audio sound bites I have that were collected over the weekend, the Democrats are still out there trying to goad the Republicans into impeaching Obama, and Obama is out there trying to goad Republicans into impeaching him. And it's the Democrats that are doing all the talk about it.

You got Juan Williams on Fox telling everybody that anybody wants to do this is a racist pig and so forth. The one thing the Democrats are not stopping to think about as they continue to talk about this, would you want the word "impeachment" associated with your president so drat often, if you were a Democrat? What do they think they're doing here? After a while, if you keep talking about the impeachment of your own president... I understand they're succeeding with fundraising on it. Do you realize they collected $4 million the last two weeks in just e-mail appeals based on this fact the Republicans want to impeach Obama? So I understand they got their money out of it.

But I'm gonna tell you, I never follow the conventional wisdom. I find out what the conventional wisdom is and I go the other way almost always. And this conventional wisdom is that all this talk of impeachment's gonna help Obama and it's gonna hurt the Republicans and it's gonna really force Obama's base, the Democrat base, out in droves in November. If they keep it up, at some point people are gonna start asking, "Well, why would anybody want to impeach? Why are you guys talking about? Why is this threat even there?"

Right now the Democrats are living off the answer to that question, "Well, the Republicans are mean-spirited, they're extremists, they're racists, and they hate the first black president. That's why they want to impeach him." After a while, if the Democrats keep this drumbeat up, common sense, folks, at some point is going to prevail with enough people that this isn't gonna make sense. Impeachment as a positive? Impeachment, this is all they've got is to run around and spout empty threats that their president's gonna be impeached? To me this is the exact kind of thing that can backfire. So I hope they keep it up. 'Cause they've got nothing. The Democrats literally have got nothing going for 'em.

The truth of the matter, and the Drive-Bys don't tell you about it because they are Democrats, but the Democrat Party is in the dregs. Nothing that they've done is working. You can't find a success as part of any policy they've implemented since Obama became president. You can't find one. This country is in a downward spiral. The only question people are asking is, is this coincidental, accidental, or purposeful. And that's what people are debating.

The border's wide open. Everybody knows it. Now Obama is out there continuing, the Democrats are continuing this tease campaign that Obama is just gonna grant blanket amnesty to five or six million, if the Republicans don't do it by, what, October or now September. And they keep talking about if the Congress doesn't -- let's not forget, the Democrats run the Senate here. It's not just the Republicans in the House that are obstacles here. The Democrats in the Senate are not playing ball. And they're not getting anything done. Harry Reid's made an absolute disaster out of the Senate.

I know we make the mistake, and I made this point last week. See if this doesn't describe you. You're watching the news. You hear Obama make an argument, and you think, "Okay, that's it, he's won the argument." As soon as he makes it he's won the argument because you think that every low-information voter in the world or low-information dingbat is gonna automatically believe everything Obama says when he complains, when he whines, when he makes allegations.

So you get depressed. You get a little defeated. There goes Obama again making some allegation just by virtue of making the charge, just by virtue of expressing an opinion, you think he's automatically gonna be right. Look at his approval numbers. Thirty-nine in a Gallup poll, 40 in CNN. It's lower than that. It has to be lower than that, given the Wilder Effect and everything else that goes into play when people talk to pollsters about black candidates. His approval number is way lower than that, real world, there is nowhere near 50% of this country that's supportive of Obama. Nowhere near it.
You live in a world of mythical support for Obama because the Drive-Bys are not gonna dare tell anybody how low his support really is. And even when they report 39 or 40%, they're gonna report it and let it go. They're not gonna harp on it; they're not gonna remind you of it; report it once to say they've done it and move on to other things.

But it's not the case that when Obama makes an argument or says something, it's automatically deemed true because the Republicans don't have a chance at refuting it. The Democrats have nothing, folks, all they've got is the race card, impeachment, it's all part of the same tactic. And that is tell lies to their base about the extremist, mean-spirited, evil, racist Republicans and get votes out in order to protect and save Democrats from these evil, mean guys on the Republican side.
...
Voters who are angry, who is there to be angry at but Obama and the Democrats? Contrary to what the media might want you to think that everybody's mad at the Republicans, they haven't done anything.

Well, that's true. But in this context, that's positive. Their fingerprints aren't on any of this. As far as Republican voters are concerned, they're in trouble because they haven't done anything, meaning they haven't tried any push-back. But their fingerprints are not on this mess. The Republicans are not keeping the borders open. They want to, but they haven't done it. Obama has. The Republicans have nothing to say over this economy.

That's all Obama.

Everything's all Obama.

So the Democrat strategists are writing off angry voters. That makes sense. But this next business that Democrats "'target voters now are people who are worried, disappointed, concerned,'" Mike Allen says, "Those are the voters that they want. That's a bad place to be," and it is. Why do you think so, Mr. Snerdley? Why is it a bad place to be to want voters who are worried, disappointed, and concerned? (interruption)

Because they're worried, disappointed, and concerned over you! I don't care whether it's anger or disappointment or worry or concern. It stands to reason that if there is worry over the future of the country -- if there's concern over the future of your job prospect, the future of your family -- you are not, after six years, gonna blame George W. Bush! And, by the way, the polling data now reflects that under 50% hold Bush responsible for the economy now.

So that's played out for Obama. So if this is true, and if the Democrats' turnout and vote prospects in November circle around only those who are worried, disappointed, and concerned, there's nothing positive there. That's the bottom line. You've heard the old saw, "Yeah, you gotta give people reasons to vote for you. You just can't have 'em out there voting against the other guy! You gotta have them vote for you."

There's nothing... There's not one reason to vote for Democrats, policy-wise. The only thing the Democrats can do in that arrangement, is get you to vote for the Democrats because you think the Republicans are so bad -- because they're gonna target you, because they're gonna give the rich all the money back or whatever. Now, granted there's a sizable number of people that fall for that. We know it and have to admit it.

But it's not the voting bloc that you want to win a majority with, and that's why all this talk of impeachment. That's why Obama won't let go of it. That's why his press secretary and communications guy, Valerie Jarrett, all of them are talking about how the Republicans want to impeach Obama. The Republicans are not talking about it. By the way, I'm not suggested here... The Republicans are their own case study.

If they win here, it's strictly gonna be an anti-Democrat, anti-Obama thing. That's sadly unfortunate, but it's true. Republicans are their own separate thing. But in this case, everything they've got to talk about is either fear-mongering or negative. It's nothing, nothing positive. "Well, they never talk about positive Rush!" No, you go back to 2008. That's all it was. It was a blank slate. He was The Messiah!

You can't get more positive than that, and that's the difference.

RUSH: This is Eric in Margate, New Jersey. Great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Great to talk with you guys.

RUSH: Thank you very much. I appreciate that.

CALLER: Rush, I have a question of you. Since this might be the most dangerous virus since maybe the Plague -- which they don't teach in school -- that wiped out all of Europe years ago, and since they put the moon men in quarantine for 30 days when they got back, how come that ambulance didn't have a police escort for 15 miles so we didn't have Ebola all over a highway in Atlanta?

RUSH: Why didn't it have a police escort?

CALLER: Yeah. It was just driving by itself, but there weren't cars behind it to make sure it got there safe, so it didn't get in an accident.

RUSH: Well, I don't think they wanted to call attention to it. Are you making a joke?

CALLER: No, I'm not making a joke. I saw it on Fox News, and I told my wife, "How come there's not a police car behind that to make sure -- going through tractor-trailers and stuff -- if it has an accident, you would have a hazmat situation on Atlanta's highway?"

RUSH: 'Cause they didn't want anybody to know what they were doing it. I mean, they don't want to call attention to it at the moment. You never know what somebody might do, try to ram the ambulance to cause a problem.

CALLER: I think they still should take precautions. I don't know.

RUSH: Well, supposedly the patient was isolated in a tent in the jet, in a vacuum-sealed tent, and it is. I've seen the inside of this jet. The crew was not exposed to the patient. The patient's put inside of a tent, even though the disease has found its way through hazmat gear in the past.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: And then the same thing in the ambulance, the same thing in the hospital. Now, as to why there wasn't a police escort? I think it's about trying to do things on the down low low-key, as they say.

CALLER: Well, they're announcing that the other girl's coming in a couple days.

RUSH: Yeah, Nancy Writebol.

CALLER: Yes. So, I mean, they're gonna be looking for... They had a helicopter flying over on Fox. I was watching it on Saturday. So, I mean, it was obvious. It was on the road. They announced it was driving for 15 miles from where it landed.

RUSH: Right. Fifteen miles from Hartfield to the hospital.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: And you want to know why there wasn't a police escort?

CALLER: Yes. I feel they're not taking it serious.

RUSH: Oh, that's where you are. You think they're not taking it seriously. Well, that's problematic. I don't think that's the case. I think they wanted to not make a big deal of it so as not to attract any problems or any potential problems. The word gets out that they're doing this, and there'll be a number of people who are not gonna take time to try to understand it, figure out. They're not gonna buy any explanation.

So I think this was just low-keying it, but I have to tell you: The Atlantic website already has a story up. (chuckling) I can predict these people. I know what they're gonna do before they do it: "Recovering Americans and the Top-Secret Ebola Treatment." The Atlantic has a story out that basically asks: Why did US missionaries get the top-secret Ebola serum and hundreds of others did not?

I knew that was gonna happen. I knew that there were gonna be a bunch of people ask that question, "Okay, we've got this lifesaving serum. We have this mystical, magical serum that reverses the effects, and we didn't leave it for any of these suffering people in these three African countries? We snuck it over there and we administered it to an American and then got the American out? What, is Africa no good for us?"

I guarantee you, I knew this was gonna happen.

The Atlantic already has the story up. Eric, thanks for the call. I appreciate it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This is Patti in Acworth, Georgia. It's great to have you on the program. Hi.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. It's a great pleasure to talk with you today.

RUSH: Thank you. It's a pleasure to have you. Great to have you here. Thank you.

CALLER: Thank you. Just following up. I'm not an alarmist by any means with regard to the Ebola issue, but there's something that's not adding up to me. They keep saying that this is not easily transmitted, that it's only by bodily fluids. Yet the doctor and the missionary that have contracted the virus, I would assume that they wore the garb that we keep seeing them wearing on TV. It's almost like a hazmat-type suit.

RUSH: One of the doctors... Not the American. I think it was a Sierra Leone or Liberian treatment center doctor who contracted the disease, and the report that I read... Who knows what you can believe anymore, but the report I read said he was in full hazmat gear.

CALLER: Right, and I would assume our doctor and the missionary did the very same, and if that's the case, then what's the explanation for how they contracted it?

RUSH: Well, I would love to know that, because here is what I'm told you have to do. It's not spread like the common cold or the flu -- sneezing, airborne, that kind of vector. You have to come in contact with bodily fluids, which could have been blood, which could be mucus from the nose, which could be other bodily fluids that you and I as adults know what we're talking about, Patti.

But aside from that, it is not airborne -- and yet, look at how this spreads.

It seems to spread pretty easily. Now, you'd have to come in contact with somebody's blood. You'd have to come in contact with somebody's mucus. It could be blood from a bedsore or a cut on the hand, treating it, or some such thing. Everything I've read in the reporting personifying the disease reports that this disease does everything it can to spread. This disease does everything it can to infect everybody, and to have it downplayed and mocked is not right.

CALLER: Well, I would just love somebody in the media to ask the question. If these folks were prepared to go in and treat the patients with their medical hazmat suits on, how do they explain that they contracted the virus?

RUSH: Exactly. That is the question: If they're wearing full protective gear, hazmat or otherwise, how in the world did they get it? These are doctors that we're treating here, folks. Doctors and nurses, they're the ones that we're treating here. How did they contract it?

...
Look, I can totally understand wanting to bring American missionaries back home and treat them for this disease rather than leave them in one of these African countries or even trying to treat them there. You could have a riot if you start treating an American, you have a limited amount of serum, for example, this mystical, magical serum. If you go over there and you just start treating the Americans and you don't try to help everybody else, you could have PR problem, riots, who knows whatever else. So you do get them out. I understand that.

But the mocking of people who are concerned about this, that's a little bit over the top. And I think it's understandable, the people doing the mocking are people either in the administration or in the media defending the administration, and they of course don't want the thought out there that the Regime could be so incompetent as to let this happen. But the problem is we see everything else this Regime is doing that's incompetent. And that's giving the benefit of the doubt, claiming all this is incompetent.

We see the absolute disaster that this Regime is making of this country. And that's not just idle talk, and that's not talk designed to appeal to an audience. It's what I really believe, and it scares the heck out of me.
And if I let myself go, I do get depressed over what's happening to this country. You know, the thing that depresses me even more -- what Obama does, I can get. I mean, that's who he is. And who the Democrats are, that's who they are. What they're doing makes sense.

The thing that really has always gotten to me is all the low-information people that don't see it. And I'll bet it's the same thing for you. You pull your hair out trying to figure out how in the world do people, A, not see it, or B, and not just the low-information, how about all the high-information, super elite, wealthy people like in Hollywood who are giving money so that all this can continue. Do they know what they're doing? I know, folks, it's a maddening thing that we're confronted with every day.

Just asking questions!!!! :tinfoil:

Wonder how this caller got that impression

quote:

RUSH: Irene in Sonora, California, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Listen to you for almost 27 years now.

RUSH: Well, appreciate that. Thank you.

CALLER: My thoughts are these with Obama. He made a speech last week regarding hating. Well, I think we need to turn that around on him. This man is so full of hate for the founding, for the Constitution, for the people, for the country. There's nothing about this country that he loves. It's all hate. He's doing what he's doing from hate.

RUSH: That's a pretty strong --

CALLER: He's hurting our borders. He's bringing Ebola in. Contrast that with Netanyahu, what this wonderful man is doing for his country to protect his country from people who want to destroy his country, his people. He loves his country and his people. Obama does not. He has no love. And it's evident in what he is doing.
And it finally came to me this weekend, I've been -- my husband will tell you -- I have been so upset about this Ebola.

Why would anybody in their right mind, would they allow or sign executive orders to bring two people to this country with a deadly, deadly virus, and it's a horrible way to die. I have too much information. I wish I didn't do what I did this weekend. I'm overloaded right now. And it came to me, I could be wrong, I don't know. Hate. He hates us so much he wants to see us destroyed. And he's so clouded with his hate --

RUSH: Let me ask you a question. Have you ever, Irene, and you're in Sonora, you're Northern California.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: You're in enemy territory there.

CALLER: Well, fortunately where we live, we live in the middle of a forest. We have seven and a half acres in the middle of the forest. And a lot of people up here are conservative, believe it or not.

RUSH: Well, that's good for you.

CALLER: So we've got a little patch. I'm not saying everybody. We are still outnumbered, but I'm in a little patch with a lot of conservatives.

RUSH: Have you ever felt this way about any other Democrat president? You've point-blank come out and said he's doing this 'cause he hates America.

CALLER: No. You know, unfortunately, Carter was a lovable man and he was out of his depth. Bill Clinton was a big pus-face that knew how to play the politics. This man, on the other hand, no, he hates, and his hate runs deep, and so does his wife. They are both haters. I mean, we don't have slavery anymore. I get a kick out of people, they keep on saying we have to live for today. Whatever happened in history, happened, we learn from it, we carry on. Well, they're not carrying on. We don't have slavery anymore. It's gone. We eradicated it. But they still harp on the same thing, the same thing.

It's almost like an obsessive hatred that they have, a contempt. It doesn't matter we don't have slavery, we are the best country there is. People are coming here. We're not going to other countries. It's pure, unadulterated hate. You can see it in what he's doing. It makes sense now. And, unfortunately, we have a willing media, and there are a lot of Democrats that have -- I never thought I'd say this, but there are a lot of Democrats who believe the way he does. I used to be a Democrat until Carter. I made a big mistake voting for him, and then I became a conservative Republican, and I wish we had a Ronnie Reagan. But I've been watching all this, and the only answer that I can come up with is this man hates us so much --

RUSH: See, that's the thing. People are looking at this, and they're trying to explain it to themselves. Why in the world would you grant amnesty to six million? Why would you basically spit on the Constitution with a smile? Why would you do this? Why would you flood this country with a permanent underclass that can't provide for itself, that's gonna bleed the budget and the welfare system, why would you do this? And why would you build another welfare state? Why would you destroy an economy that made prosperity for more people than the world has ever know, why would you do this? And I'm sure that's what you've been doing, and you can't imagine up with any other answer, right?

CALLER: Right. And it's been driving me nuts. My poor husband has to live with me and I just have to be careful and not say -- my heart is so heavy right now because I think I've come up, I could be wrong, but I look at what Netanyahu is doing for his country. He loves his people, and you can tell he loves his people. This man doesn't. And this man is gonna do everything he can for next two years, few months, to undermine and hurt, because he hates.

RUSH: You know, I could play devil's advocate with you. Let me give you an example. Well, you know, Irene, you say they hate America, but what if in fact they really love America and they hate the imperfections, and they hate the discrimination, and they hate the bigotry, and they're trying to rectify all of these things that have kept people disadvantaged for all of these years? It isn't fair that only 1% of the population is seeing their incomes rise. It isn't fair that the middle class cannot afford basics in life anymore, and we're trying to fix this by getting even with the people who made this possible in the first place. And that is the founders and their buddies.

CALLER: Okay. So you're gonna justify the ends justifies the means.

RUSH: No, this country has been due to pay a price for a long time. And we're the guys coming along and finally making this country fair and open for everybody, not just a select few.

CALLER: That's not love, Rush. That is not love. That's not how you deal --

RUSH: Oh, I know. It's resentment --

CALLER: -- each circumstance --

RUSH: It's resentment and grievance, but that's the politics of the left is all resentment and grievance.

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: But they're the ones that think they own compassion.

CALLER: What they're doing is not compassionate. That's compassion, putting people on welfare, saying, "Oh, you can't take care of yourself, let me do that"? I don't think so. I'll take care of myself, thank you very much.

RUSH: Well, I appreciate your call. I sympathize totally. I - know exactly what you've been going through, trying to explain all this. And you've been trying to do it in a way that makes common sense, and you can't. What you're actually doing is helping illuminate the problem, and one of the problems is that most people are not gonna be able to come to the conclusion you've come to. A lot probably have gotten close. But the low-information crowd will never get there. They can't conceive.

Many Obama voters will never, ever admit they made such a tragic, egregious mistake. No, no, it can't be that. And if they have any problem with what's going on, they'll chalk it up to incompetence, maybe trying to do too much, too soon, or blame it on the Republicans for not helping and forcing Obama. You'd be stunned at some of the idiotic justifications that you'll get for this.
