Also just a reminder for anyone looking to keep supporting good charities like this, unless I missed something, Amazon Smile is a good way to toss a small donation to a charity (the Trevor Project and multiple other LGBT/feminist/minority/etc ones are valid to them) every time you buy off Amazon (I think?). It's a nice way to keep the support going even when not telling a horrible person to gently caress himself.

yeah, but keep in mind that only applies to purchases you make from smile.amazon.com, not regular amazon.com.

Zak and Pundit are literally crazy people. It doesn't take a mental health professional to recognize narcissistic personality disorder. They're barely a step up from the crazy homeless guy ranting about the ice-cream truck's that control his mind. Here is how their minds work:

For whatever reason they believe that they are the smartest, most creative, clever, important person in the room. At the same time, they're both insignificant parts of a minor niche hobby. This causes a cognitive dissonance, if they're so great why aren't they living the high life, why doesn't everyone agree with them. To rectify this conflict between reality and their mental self image they create imaginary foes who are secretly plotting against them (the swines, or the many faces of Mikan) and holding them back from reaching their full potential. Anytime anything conflicts with this delusion, they react with anger and lash out at it's source while at the same time further rationalizing their delusions.

Anytime you engage them directly you are just feeding their delusions, you are giving (to them) truth to the enemy plot that they so desperately need to maintain their self image. A better way to deal with them is to make sure everyone else knows that they're crazy people deserving of only ridicule. This is the thing they fear the most, for everyone to realize that they're not important and that there is no reason that they should be important.

Continue to do good things despite them, continue to point out that they're assholes, but also point out that they're crazy assholes, but engaging them directly just strengthens their delusions, and the delusions of those that follow them.

I don't see a contradiction. The Overlord's attacks can rip through darn well anything, except for this one specific thing.

Might make things a bit weak if the players pick, say, "steel", but I can see e.g. an elven tyrant feared among the fair folk, who all also wouldn't want anything to do with iron

I think that violates the unspoken "don't be a dope" rule of any RPG. Although maybe it should be spoken? Is there some sort of discussion on how to put a villain together with the rules? That would be cool.

"Cannot pierce Flesh" would be a bad choice for the players to make, I think. Sure, he won't slice and dice anybody, but the Overlord could still toss you across a room, break every bone in your body, set you on fire, all sorts of nasty stuff. He just won't leave any scars, and that could be even scarier.

The idea is to pick something like "silver" or "diamonds" or "mahogany wood", something specific that the players can use to stop them. But creativity is strongly encouraged, so I don't see much need to specify that. If the Overlord's attacks cannot pierce Rainbows, I know someone will do something insane with that at some point.

Well, the thing with any system (and PbtA games in particular) is that they're very much cooperative things. If you approach them from the angle of, "But what if the Players/GM takes this antagonistic approach," they're gonna start to fall apart, for sure, but a lot of games sort of make the assumption that you're all there to play a fun game, not to play rules lawyer. And, as people have said, if your group is into the whole semantics side of, "NO MAN CAN HARM ME," "BUT I AM NOT A MAN," thing, sure, play that game and have fun!

I'm certainly not saying this is an excuse for their actions. Being crazy isn't license to be an rear end in a top hat, there are plenty of crazy people who channel themselves in positive ways. I'm saying that this is how their hosed up brains work, and you need to be aware of it if you're going to deal with them. Anything you do that disagrees with their perception of the world is going to result in them twisting it to further justify their persecution complexes.

They're not going to go away, and you're never going to convince them that they're wrong, your goal should be to take away their influence.
