Reaching out, looking for opportunities.

Job Seeker

Location: Split, Croatia (can work from home, would love to relocate)

Education: three years of university, before switching to graphic and web design - Adobe Certified - at a private institution, followed by several online courses.

Experience: As a designer and illustrator, I have extended experience in creating printed and digital content, designing promotional material, character design, custom typeface design, and I have developed my own art and apparel brand, Rad Recorder. My work was featured at various exhibitions domestically and in the US, and has been published domestically and in the UK. As a content and copy writer, and a translator, I have worked in media and publication for ten years, specializing in pop cultural themes, but have written about a wide variety of subjects, from finance to tourism and health. Spent many years as a music journalist and reporter. An experienced content creator and manager, blogger and community manager. This is a small sample of my work experience and education, for more, please refer to the link provided under Contact.

Looking for: Jobs in media, art and entertainment. My passion is illustration, especially apparel design. I can combine my content/copy writing with my design skills. I'm looking for ways to extend my network and reach my actual potential. Basically, I'm looking for decent work based on my abilities, and I'm reaching out here because Croatia is a very small market where I can achieve only so much.

Contact: PM here, email orebster @ gmail, or via links provided with my digital business card - http://about.me/oreb, where you'll find a more detailed view into my work experience, including my portfolio and LinkedIn profile.

Today I'm... amped up!

I am also reaching out and looking for opportunities as well! I figured I might give this a try.

Job Seeker

Location: Washington, DC

Education: MA in International Affairs from American University, BA in Political Science and International Studies at Case Western Reserve University. I did a short stint (1 semester) study abroad at Ritsumeikan University in Japan as part of my Master's coursework as well.

Experience: I just finished up some contract work after about 1.5 years working as a research analyst for a survey research firm based out of McLean, VA. As part of my duties, I traveled to Afghanistan to manage and conduct survey research projects for clients like The World Bank, State Department, Deutsche Welle, and Sesame Street (yes, really. I am more than happy to tell you all about it). In addition, I learned how to use SPSS to check data, clean data, and merge data in addition to using it for descriptive statistics (which I learned from graduate school). My previous employer has graciously provided me with a letter of recommendation which describes all of my skills and responsibilities, which I am more than willing to furnish to you if you are interested. In addition, I interned for about 7 months at the U.S. Department of Commerce doing business-sector survey work, mainly defense industrial base analyses. As part of my work, I got to be part of a multiagency effort to get the ball rolling on Export Control Reform, wrote briefs about subjects like Western Redcedar, Lithium-Air batteries, and emerging technologies. Finally, I have a solid 2 years of administrative experience from my time working in undergraduate and grad school, where I was employed as an administrative assistant for a number of departments. With an academic background in East Asia/Japan and Disaster Relief, coupled with professional experience in government, Afghanistan, and administrative work, I'm more than willing and happy to learn new skills and take on new knowledge in order to do well here in DC.

Looking for: Jobs in applied social science research, think tanks, international development (monitoring and evaluation), and even higher-level administrative work (in particular, I've thought about recruiting) are all pretty good opportunities for me. I've got some academic background in cybersecurity but am currently trying to teach myself Java in order to really understand it better.

Contact: Please send me a PM through the forums. Once you do that, we'll exchange contact information including a link to my LinkedIn profile. Before recommending me for a job, I would like to meet with you in person in order to learn a little more about the company, help you to feel confident in recommending me, and to help us get to know each other as people. I am available at any time.

I know that game developers have a reputation for overworking their employees, but I was wondering if that also extends to backend jobs like the Security Analyst position. I know every area is going to vary depending on department management, but are things like overtime common for everyone there?

Also some of those job descriptions made me cringe.

quote:

The security analyst is part Sherlock Holmes, part Tychus Findlay, and always a smooth talking Han Solo who wears many hats and plays a critical role in protecting the realm.

Security Analyst I don't know about specifically, but game support IT in general can put in some overtime around when a game launches due to having to do like a million things to make sure it goes smoothly. I won't say that overtime doesn't happen, but there's much more willingness to delay a game to put an extra layer of polish on it then to crunch like hell to get a game out the door on time.

At least paid hourly overtime is pays well. My friend was making some ridiculous six figure some as an assistant or associate producer during crunch.

Education: BA in English with a professional writing minor. MA in English literature. (GPA 3.7)

Experience: Five years teaching composition/literature/film, mostly as accelerated online classes. Two and a half years teaching conversational English in Japan and counseling students planning to attend high school or college in America with guidance to help them adjust to American culture. Thirteen years hardware retail (Dad owned a store, and I started doing little things there as soon as I could make complete sentences.) Six years as a logistical specialist/National Guardsman. Comfortable with a variety of course delivery platforms, extremely proficient with APA format, competent with MLA format. High-level grammar/mechanics/spelling, good attention to detail, don't mind being picky.

Requirements: Full-time preferred, but I wouldn't mind keeping part of my current teaching load to take a part-time job.

When I can start: August 17th.

What I'm Looking for: I'm tired of teaching writing full-time. I'd be interested in content production (any ACT or Pearson goons here?) ESL work (but not minimum-wage work...I would be willing to work in a country that had a challenging culture, though) human resources, marketing, or administrative support.

I'm decent at MLA citation format, good at research, and masterful with APA citation format. Really far, since he doesn't have to pay for housing.

If you have no experience, you'd be more in the $20-25k range, depending on the exchange rate. Also, it's typical to be reimbursed for your plane ticket there, and at the end of the contract, they'd give you either a plane ticket back, or equivalent cash as a bonus if you want to stay another year.

But you can find plane tickets from Seoul to Bangkok for under $100, street food is a couple bucks a meal, apartments are generally walking distance from your work. The first two years my friend was there, he partied all the time, traveled all over Asia on the weekends, didn't even try to save money, but he was still able to pay off about $20k in loans.

I know a statistician who recently got her MA from Harvard (in stats). She worked a bunch on predictive modelling with large datasets. Do you think she'd be in the realms of what you are after for the data scientist position?

Do you have a contact email? I'll check and send her a note if it's a possibility.

I don't want to post our jobs website here but if you PM me I can send you details. I have been told that all qualified candidates who are referred through a current employee will be given an interview.

I don't have pm but I was interested to hear how a bonus is put into play if there are no sales goals?

HAIL TO THE VICTORS!
It's based on your annual review.

There is a bonus level set by the company and then it's split up to each employee depending on your overall review grade.

Edit: that's my department. Other positions might be allocated differently.

Location: San Antonio, TX

Education: Almost complete B.S. in Marketing Management - official expected graduation date is Feb. 2015; however, I plan on being done by the end of September.

Experience:
I started my work history at a locally-owned bank in the bookkeeping department preparing statements, answering customer inquiries, and assisting the proof department. I eventually was moved to a commercial teller position.

I then went to work for a gas cooking grill manufacturer, first as a customer support rep and then as the administrative assistant. As administrative assistant, I supported the office and warehouse staff - including company executives. My duties included verifying expense reports, anticipating office supply needs and submitting requisitions, and taking care of office visitors. I also undertook a large photography project for a major department store chain: the store wanted photos of our parts for their website and we were required to provide the photos.

After leaving that company, I worked retail for a little less than a year. I was promoted about a month after being hired from associate to lead cashier. In that role, I was responsible for balancing the registers and preparing the deposits at the end of the day.

My most recent job was administrative support for one of the Avon Cosmetics district managers. While there, I acted as interim district manager while the district manager was out on temporary disability. During this time, I was responsible for generating and submitting reports to the division manager. I routinely answered representative questions, managed and coordinated the district manager's calendar, and managed the district Facebook page.

Looking For: An entry-level marketing position. Barring that, executive assistant or administrative/office role.

Availability: I can start with approximately a week's notice.

Designed survey which was completed by several hundred participants across campus
Competed with other schools across the nation and received an Honorable Mention.

October 2013-May 2014 - Worked as an Operations and Marketing consultant for RarezHut. (An online music reseller) RarezHut saw an increase of over 200% in profit ans sales while I was there. I most designed their current inventory management system and brought it into this century, as well developed pricing and sale structures alongside the owner. I then also reported on the expenses and profitability under the new business Model.

Looking For: An entry-level or better Marketing position. I feel I could contribute the most at a tech company though.

I spread my labia. All six are thin and supple, layered like a dancer's skirts, the colour of cherries in summertime. Within them lies my vagina. It is a fertile paradise that stretches from the delta of my taint to the high alpine peak of my clitoris. Extending my compound eyes to get a better look at you, I begin to gyrate my luscious hips. They swivel with a feline grace, my pointy little toothpick of a penis swinging around and around with the motion. My huge breasts bounce. My anus leers from beneath the translucent shield of its protective membrane. Now my cooch is slick with lust, my intimate womanly hollows crying out for you to fill them; their voices are like distant seagulls, reedy and raucous. From the curve of my breastbone to the very tip of my needle dick, I am coated in a sensuous pelt of coarse, bearlike hair. I whisper your name seductively, loving the feel of it on my tongue. My scrotum cracks its knuckles. The time has come. We must have sex.
