The title of Gratten's new article seems to pretty much sum up Palmer at the moment: A climate change convention: Clive Palmer really knows how to mess with Abbott’s mind Such a brilliantly rear end in a top hat'ish move, announcing a climate change convection immediately after the G20, while at the same time calling the Chinese government Mongral bastards. It really is fascinating seeing how much and little effort he can put into pissing people -and countries- off, apparently just for shits and giggles.

Oscar received bruises, cuts, and swelling all over his body, and after reaching out for justice The Beat has still not responded or apologized for the incident. https://www.change.org/petitions/th...justiceforoscar Here is a written statement by Oscar, posted immediately after the assault on August 10, 2014: quote:"On Saturday night I was assaulted by three security guards at The Beat Megaclub for using the toilets of the gender I identify with. After one guard told me I couldn't use the mens bathroom I explained that I'm a transman and he allowed me to use the toilet. Half an hour later the same guard returned with two others and told me I'm not allowed to use the mens toilets and to leave. I explained to them again that I am a transman but then they asked for my ID (which I didn't give them) and said that until my ID says that I am male I cannot use the mens toilets. I told them that that is discrimination and they can't do that. They then asked me if I wanted to be treated as a man and when I said yes they threw me to the ground.

What did they expect when they started working there? I'd say you're right, they're probably just from some company contracted to provide security. It makes sense to do this, because the club can disown the actions of the security staff and then go after the security company for any potential losses caused by their staff, depending on the contract. I'd imagine hiring your own security staff yourself would probably be a clusterfuck of legislation to deal with. As far as I know, it's the more "famous" LGBT club in Brisbane, but I don't think it's the safest by a long shot. From what I'm told, a lot of straight people go there too now and some of my gay friends don't really consider it a "gay club" so much now days.
