I have to say, I don't like the design of the T6 Fed ships, but I like their hull texture.

Well the Vesta isn't a Cryptic design, it was made by someone for the the ST books.

I've attached a .jpg of my usual route. You can use use the mission transwarp for the mission Spin the Wheel to get to the start for 500 EC. Make sure to check in at the Arcanis Arm and Khazan Clusters for the colonization chains they spit out fantastic doffs for hitting freighters.

How long does it usually take for someone to accept a dilithium for Zen trade? I'm trying to buy some Zen so I can buy some new poo poo (I'm kinda leaning towards the Wrath of Khan uniform), but I put the request up a few days ago and haven't seen if the seller accepted it or not.

The Khan uniforms usually end up free. Regarding the dil market, you're only going to get the zen if the buy order you have matches the current price of zen (172 dil per atm).

It's a communal exchange so all the sales are aggregated, so it gravitates towards the lowest profitable price, and I'm pretty sure it's first-come first-sold. You'll probably need to cancel the order and settle for less, especially since the overall trend in the market the last few weeks has been an increasingly lovely dil>zen ration.

And yeah I'd wait until next week to actually buy anything anyway, there's a giveaway this weekend.

Gotcha... I'm kinda new to the whole exchange thing (I've been playing STO for a while now, mostly doing single player stuff like the main storyline), so I'm not totally sure what I'm doing. I'll definitely hold off on trying to buy Zen and grind for more dilithium, especially with this free weekend coming up. Thanks! :)

1. Contact Dental recruitment coordinator
2. Fill out necessary preliminary application form

5. One on one interview with recruiter
6. Panel interview
7. SA registration

10. Recruitment Ceremony*

I'm a bit confused as to who owns and runs this game. Cryptic, ARC, perfect world? When I navigate the links at the website that looks like the real STO site I wind up in sites that are branded with any one of these names. The login I created at ARC seemed to let me log in to the game launcher but somehow not ARC's own website (claims my email address and username don't exist,) nor the perfect world support site.

EDIT: My original username from years ago seems active, took me to a Cryptic STO Beta page... :psyduck:

ARC is a platform that can be used to authenticate/install/play Cryptic (and other) games through. It was developed by Perfectworld in order to directly (not!!!) compete with Steam/Origin/etc other distribution platforms.

Cryptic current owns and develops content for STO/NW/Champs.

Perfectworld is responsible for the distribution & marketing side of Cryptic games.

Also Perfect World is absolutely incompetent at managing a website. There's a reason the usual advice to anyone who actually wants to give them money is "download the game through Steam, do transaction through steam wallet".

These are great, thanks.

I was wondering if someone could give similar guidance on things a new level 50 should do, in terms of daily missions and longer term goals. I understand there are reputations to grind, dailies to bang out, a super rifle, but right now I feel accomplished if I keep my doffs busy and continue to do storyline missions. Goons - particularly devs - have been helpful and friendly in-game but even they have a tendency to use a lot of shorthand.

Don't worry about the super rifle too much for right now. Ground works fine with regular weapons. The biggest thing to focus on would be doing the daily rep projects. Tier V rep gives nice traits and access to some of the best equipment in the game, but there's no real way to speed them up on your first character.

As for shorthand, we do tend to do that. Whenever you see something in chat that you don't understand, just ask. Someone will probably explain.

Edit:

Don't do this. In the past there have been those j4gs who didn't feel that they were dealt with fairly, and bringing real money into those kind of situations could lead to accusations of fraud. Stick with EC and other in game items for fees.

Yeah I don't maraud daily anymore so it's more of a semi-involved thing to do while I watch bad movies on netflix route. It's a really good route for newbies though since those cluster doffs really help fill out your marauding roster. Also expect the zen price to get even more stupid this weekend they mentioned a new ship being released this Thursday in that news post.

I would prioritize your reps since they take a long time to finish but it's mostly just letting projects complete passively while logged out. With the daily marks bonus it's pretty easy to keep all 5 reps advancing by just running 2 or 3 queues a day. Also just stick to doing the 20 hr project once a day and ignore the hourly. It'll take you a couple of extra days to finish but it'll cut the grinding needed in half.

As for the shorthand just ask in chat about anything your not clear on. We'll probably rib you for not knowing it but we'll explain it to you and none actually gives a gently caress.

The Dyson Sphere BattleZone is the most fun you'll have in the game, as far as ground combat goes. It spews out dil and dyson marks like a giant purple crystal geyser. Especially if you shoot each V-Rex boss once and run to the next one, since you get bonus credit for each of the bosses you damaged.
