Yes, SJW/gaming sites will win the narrative but will lose the their relevance in the process.

Most interesting thing about all this is how it reflects larger trends in how online discussions are framed as increasingly simple, all-or-nothing issues. Any nuance or divergence from the "acceptable" opinion has you labelled as a number of terrible things and these bad opinions are kept in check through some pretty lovely tactics. I think it's worse that people claiming to be progressive are supporting these methods, as there is nothing progressive about trying to stifle dissenting voices(in most cases). This whole gamergate poo poo is probably going to not come to anything, save for the status quo reasserting itself and the "gamers" being made to look even trashier. That's not to say "gamer culture" isn't a loving joke though. But I think most nerd culture is just as insufferable, and worthless, even if for different reasons. Also, more mainstream journalists/publications should get called out for writing articles funded by corporate interests.

You know guys I was thinking about it and I think I found the silver lining in this mess. If the SJWs are spending all their time complaining about "problematic tropes" in video games, music and tv shows then the world must be a really great place because if there was any truly serious evil in the world they would be spending their time fighting it! .....

jim sterling is a fat idiot but i watched his most recent video and (as usual) seemed pretty middle of the road on the whole issue and didn't seem to be in the same camp as most of the other journalists, nor 4chan. he also seems like he might play videogames which is more than most journalists seem to these days so i cant totally hate him.
