I think The Goonies started this, because how would we know Chunk lost all his weight and became an entertainment lawyer.

Also, I recall they did a Willy Wonka reunion of the child cast as well.

io9 just posted some pretty cool Star Wars posters. The New Hope one is okay, but I'm really digging the Empire and Jedi ones. That shot of the massive satellite dish and the landing platform in the movie always stuck out to me. Shame the guy didn't include the AT-ST somewhere in the tree line.

A late 70s/early 80s aesthetic isn't out of left field considering the book. It is very much a product of its time, though can easily be adapted to a modern setting. I remember liking most of it, so this movie out of nowhere is a welcome surprise.

Nah it's going to be known mostly as Adam Sandler's "return" to doing "serious" roles.

It's also about how hosed up everyone's sex life is in this era of online pornography

I can't wait until all these people who didn't grow up with this poo poo just die so we can move on from "New thing! Me no understand new thing! Or in the 80's about how easy access to porn via VHS tape is going to corrupt our nation's morals.

Why dont you watch the loving trailer instead of being a dumb idiot?

It's about how phones keep us distracted and how we get sucked into this world of fake privacy - this movie deals with the sexual nature of things: porn, cheating, lust, etc.

I'll readily admit I have a hardcore bias against Sandler. His face annoys the poo poo out of me. But I did watch the trailer just now.

I don't see how this movie will tell me something that Disconnect hasn't already. The themes are literally the same, except more graphic. Teenagers and adults pouring their heart and soul into handheld bullshit instead of each other. I liked Disconnect fwiw, and I think it was an important film, and I guess in the same way this one is too. It just looks really way too overboard with the nudes & snapchats & "but I thought we .." & "I'm ..." & "But,"

Sorry for the bullshit dismissal up there, genuinely. This one is from the heart.
