Hm, MTGO showing its stuff. They're watching a replay at the MTGOCC, and due to a bug with Ajani's +1/+1 counters, Prime Speaker Zegana enters the battlefield with over 1000 +1/+1 counters, causing the player to deck himself and crash the replay (that did not happen in the actual game, where it was a mere 13/13)

I love that the Athreos themed decks are going to be docked points for playing Godless Shrine. Edit: Dave Humpherys just has the worst luck ever. Game 1 he had 3 Heroes' Podium opening hand, Game 3 he draws the full playset. qbert fucked around with this message at 01:29 on Sep 13, 2014 |

Does Voice of Resurgence see any plan in the non-rotating formats, or is it's price due to being a mythic from a small set? I I'd like to pick some up for some commander decks, but if their price is going to go lower than the $15-$20ish soon I don't want to spend much more than I have to.

I kind of want to make janky decks with lots of expensive delve stuff and Riddle of Lightning. Zapping someone for 10 and then being able to cast the spell you zapped them with seems pretty okay. If only I could play Erratic Explosion too. Maybe I'll just make a dumb casual deck with those and some blue card filtering, and maybe some spell copying.

Blue or Izzet artifact deck out of no where that just has Ornithopter, Ghostfire Blades, Ensoul Artifact, Chief Engineer, Shrapnel Blast, and a couple Ugin's Nexus/Soul of New Phyrexia/Scuttling Doom Engine. Magical artifact land!

The problem is that Riddle of Lightning doesn't do enough damage for the kill, so you'd need to cast multiples or deal 10 damage by some other means. If you do go for it, the best build would be RUG or Jund because green has the best self-milling cards.

I just really have to say that the Scutting Doom Engine is easily one of my favorite M15 cards, even more than the Souls. All of its effects are just so drat good and it's an easy 11 damage with a Shrapnel Blast with potentially 17 in one turn if it attacked. I did a casual sealed thing with a buddy of mine and even stuck it in a black deck. I nearly managed to win by giving one of his creatrues death touch with Necrobite which would have been absolutely hilarious.

The flavor text of... one of the cards in KTK makes it sound like he gave up the title of Mardu's khan to gallivant, the way Zurgo taunts him about what he gave up.

Is this the place where I can bitch about a booster box? Because ugh this M15 I opened. The best thing was the promo Rabblemaster I got for buying it. Only mythics were a Chandra, Soul of Zendikar and Sliver Hivelord. Few decent rares but three mythics for a booster box sounds really low to me. Had a Theros fatpack too today with absolutely fuckall in it as well

Commander banlist has been updated. Major change is that they no longer keep a separate "banned" list and "banned as Commander" list, and now there's just one banlist. Probably to do with the fact that MTGO has no way to differentiate the banlists that way.quote:Braids, Cabal Minion is banned Good luck finding Metalworkers now, they're all sold out on TCGPlayer and eBay except for a few at 3x their original price.

He was never Khan, but he was talented enough to be in a position where he was leading troops, despite not really fitting in with the Mardu. Then he went all dragonfire-y and went dragonspotting across the planes.

Buying a box just to open the packs is a terrible idea. Most rares are worthless in pretty much any set. And in most sets there are some terrible mythics. What did you expect, that every other pack would have a planeswalker or a Chord of Calling or a Rabblemaster? Your odds of getting any specific rare aren't high and there isn't much in the set that's worth anything.

No, the polls are very clear; the crap cards were hated, and also, separately, the audience didn't like/understand the setting. The usual example given is: Without looking it up, what type of permanent is Chisei, Heart of Oceans?

The biggest problem with Kamigawa is that Spiritcraft and Splice onto Arcane are incredibly insular and parasitic and the power level was intentionally ratcheted down from Mirrodin block. Triple Champions is actually a really good draft format.
