tbh for non-related fields (so non-chemistry heavy majors) i could see it being a thing because you only really need a general knowledge and you're not ever going to use it again they were pushing it for the chem major chemistry lab though and that's just sort of a recipe for disaster

come to think of it a chemistry "sandbox" "game" would be pretty cool and could be a useful educational tool if done right good luck getting the right people together and funding to develop something like that though

p sure trying to hold chemistry lectures in second life is about on the level of teaching physics in garry's mod although the idea of the teacher killing themselves with a bathtub while trying to teach projectile motion is pretty lol
