So when everyone else is starting to wind down and leaving us in holiday withdrawals, Valve swoops in and gives us another week or two of Halloween to maybe keep us from putting a revolver into our mouths just long enough to make it to the Christmas season. I got the same message when I tried using the pile of voodoo curses blueprint. Worked fine using the custom blueprint.

I think you get that error when there are problems with the item servers. It happens a lot after updates where new crafting recipes are added. Not much to do other than wait and try again later.

Since valve servers are up for easy picking now for quickplay, it probably won't be as crowded as helltower was last year when the update drop so it'll work fine for most folk.
