Yeah. Tribble is basically there to test whether the server can actually run the patch without imploding. Everything else is generally ignored, and doubly so when the patch in question is being heavily rushed.

Also I think it was limited to subscribers, not lifetimers, like with LoR; still not the widest pool but a larger set.

Then they turned Tribble into "Free Preview!" for subs only.

Nothing gets tested properly because code gets loaded on the live server as soon as it compiles and doesn't crash the game.

The old klingon tutorial/fetch quest was worse. At least the Talaxian fetch quest involves less npcs on a smaller map.

So I decided to do a 'reboot' of sorts of my main toon, but starting a new one I noticed the veteran rewards I've accumulated so far (was up to 200, maybe 300 when the game went ftp) don't show up on new characters. Instead the accolades screen shows the one for 100 days as being 'in progress'. Please don't tell me I have to resubscribe to get my snassy vest again?

EDIT: Alright! apparently you don't unlock any unlocked veteran bonuses until you reach level 5.

I've noticed several creeps from the past trickling back into the game. Lamotte, the guy who was obsessing over a fourteen year old girl, is back on Droz pretty regularly.

I kinda wish I had an Orion toon. "Verna was born into a loving family on Orion. Daughter of an accountant, she grew up happily with her brothers and sisters and joined the KDF after a brief unsuccessful career in landscaping, graduating the Academy with third class honours and a specialisation in xenoetymology".

The engineering one isn't bad for an a2b boat (Activating any Engineering Bridge Officer ability gives 20% Damage Reduction for 3 seconds) but the science one is fantastic for grav well boats, it gives 25% of your partgens skill as crit chance for exotic abilities. I've parsed my grav wells critting at about 95% chance with it.

So as a not proud new owner of a Delta Operations pack, have we decided if any of the Intel Boff powers are worth using?

Surgical Strikes for effectiveness and Ionic Turbulence for hilarity and fun.

Subsystem Overload is also pretty incredible. If you spec into subsystem repair it minimizes the offline aspect (and ET immediately fixes the offline if necessary). But who doesn't want 160 weapons power?

Note that surgical strikes is currently bugged. It converts all weapon damage to phaser type while active, meaning that your tac consoles don't work (unless you're running a phaser ship). It should get even more overpowered when they finally fix that.

So I finally gave up on trying to keep up with space clickies and set up a mega-keybind in the style of the Hilbert Guide that fires everything + shield rebalances + triggers everything on tray 10 whenever I hit space (I'll probably expand it to tray 9 and 10 soon because of the extra stuff my Obelisk-riding engineer has). I know it's not the most efficient, but before this I was basically this guy

so anything should help.

I set up something similar for ground that triggers everything in tray 10 when I hit N, but that's less from not being able to keep up than from cycling through the same 4 skills (bubble shield, medical generator, gun turret, gun drone) before every single combat.

Note that the engineering trait is bugged and is giving the projectile trait effect instead, even despite Cryptic spending weeks and multiple revisions to get the crafting traits working at all. :downs:

Speaking of surgical strikes, how do you get Surgical Strikes III? Haven't payed much attention to the intel boffs until now, but I know its not at the skills trainer and the only intel boffs I know of are from the pack, the lobi store, or the white ones off the ESD vendor.

When you have enough points in the intel specialization tree, you can train intel skills. I'd assume it's in there.

And not one of the Intel boffs- not even the commons from the ESD vendor (prior to the last patch, I haven't checked since) -can be traded for training.

Edit: just tested it and no, even the vendor commons are bound as both candidates and commissioned.
