Nintendo is really loving good at making controllers I don't think will be that great but end up being my favourite of the generation, Pro Controller is no exception.

I've been giving Rodin another try and he's honestly not that bad for tag climax. He doesn't have a dodge, but he's plenty mobile with jump+kick and his stingers. He also has some pretty interesting combos. I'm putting together a video of all of the ones I've found since you can't play training mode with him. Just need to add some subtitles. For now, here's a list. code:

Takes a real long time to do and generally isn't really worth the tiny bit of extra damage you can do before they break out but yeah. You can freeze basically any enemy that is not actually ice-related, with very few exceptions, including bosses. Be interested to know the full list of unfreezable enemies. I guess technically you'd have to count Sapientia and Worship as immune since you can't fight them outside the mech. I think Rodin's immune?

Internet cool-person Yoshesque has a video that might help. Granted it's for Bayonetta 1, but many of the same principles apply, taunting is just more of a factor in 2.

The same principles pretty much apply in 2, but taunting is free points if you can deal with less witch time, and it seems way more lenient with combos and less on damage in muspelheims when compared to alfheims in Bayo 1.

I'm mostly just doing it for Bewitchments and although it's not that useful due to how long it takes it's still a cool thing and like slamming bosses with whips, it's something you think they'd be immune to but it actually works. I kinda feel like there is some practical use for it in two-player, but I'd need to test that theory first.

Use Kafka to keep your combo going when you're far away. My combo and time for bosses were trash up until I started using it. This technique works on pretty much all the story bosses. Also keep in mind that you can dash in the aerial fights using the jump button (but man, I still hate those fights)

Use witch time to get more combo points, continue your combos by shooting things between enemies, know where certain enemies spawn. I recommend not attack the boats in the interim to Verse 2. Temperance is a crap shoot because he's loving obnoxious to fight.

My WIi U hasn't arrived yet but the pro controller showed up today. My expectations might be super low because of the Wii's godawful classic controller, but it seems really nice. It still feels weirdly regressive compared to the Dual Shock 4, like a modernized Genesis controller, but it's the most usable console controller Nintendo's made in a very long while. I think I'm gonna be glad I have it for Bayonetta.

Yeah on ergonomics it loses to the Dualshock 4, but it has one thing going for it. Completely insane battery life. Something like 30 hours a charge. A controller that never runs out even after all day sessions is pretty nice.

If you're like me and start with Bayo 2 and then try out Bayo 1, the flow just seems more slow in comparison, at least starting out on a fresh new game. I mind them because they just feel like they're there and you could have the game without them. It's a relatively minor complaint, but I still feel they're rather unnecessary. That being said, there are like... three underwater areas in the whole game and they're at the start. Honestly, my real complaint is I don't feel like the boss battles are still that good for the most part. It's like... Lumen Sage and the human sized bosses in Tag Climax and that's sort of it for me on boss fights I like.

Water is a recurring theme throughout this game, it ties into the blue color scheme, it expands Bayonetta's powers in interesting ways and kind of explores the concept of "witches sink" that was barely a feature in Bayo 1. It works because it doesn't hurt the gameplay at all and enables them to have you fight squid monsters. Really, my only complaint is that there wasn't a more visually interesting water place--a coral reef or a deep sea trench would have been kind of fun. It expands the movement abilities too.

On another note for Bayo 2, platinuming all of 2nd climax gets you a new accessory. Still working on platinums for 3rd climax.
