Man, I can't even find any Festivas on CL in N. Tx, and here's this sonuvabitch practically giving away one, and with some apparently rare goodies. I've kind of wanted one since I had to drive my brother-in-law's years ago when he borrowed our van. I had gangs of fun hustling that little roller-skate around. Sadly, he traded it in without telling me...

HotCanadianChick posted:A lot of people? Weber sells a 44DCOE twin 2bbl setup for them and Mikuni flatslides are also very popular. The stock EFI and tune on them isn't spectacular, and if you don't mind losing some low end, a good set of carbs + new cams can easily net you a significant gain in top end power. I have several issues of the Japanese-language 'Toyota Levin and Trueno' magazine and roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the cars in any given issue are carbed. Part of the issue is that the factory ECU is unflashable and doesn't really support much beyond the stock tune, and all the easy plug and play aftermarket computers for 4AGs are in the $1200+ range, so for the average guy looking for cheap upgrades, a pair of webers and a set of cams is one of the cheapest ways to get more power. Anything else you might want to do to squeeze more power from an NA 16v 4AG rapidly ends up costing as much as just swapping in a supercharged or 20v 4AG, so you see a lot of carbs and a lot of 20v/SC swaps and not as much as you would expect in between those extremes. The induction noise on that is glorious.

I'm not well-versed in car paint, but that paint job doesn't strike me as top-quality. Hood doesn't quite look aligned either, but maybe that's a camera angle? Is it normal for the passenger airbag cover to fit that poorly? Or for the steering wheel color to not match the column? I'm inclined to suspect it may have been in a frontal collision before, but I'm a total amateur. Curious to know if others think I'm being overly paranoid.

That is very sweet, but I don't like how close the battery is to the fuel tank, especially being a lead acid battery. I'd prefer it was a gel based one in a battery case

I'm planning on selling my e30 318, and trying to figure out how to price it has been interesting. Local ads vary way too much, and provide some interesting examples. Mine is no peach (it's clapped as hell), but I still can't figure out where to price it. Why do people who redo the interior of a car always insist on putting some dumb embroidery on the seats?

I'm going to guess it's a "for 20 dollars more you can have this" upsell when they're already spending hundreds.

If I get custom embroidery, it would read something like "fuckshit mcdicknuggets." Very small text, very tastefully done around the edge of the seat so it's not visible immediately, but it would be there.

That's right down the road from me but jesus that's still a lot of money for an old econobox. Also why would you redo the interior in tan cloth it looks like poo poo.

A complete one would cost $15k in AU. $8k would only get you an unfinished project. You don't know how cheap you guys get cars for... Also old econobox? Maybe if it had a 1600cc 4 banger I guess. Weird location choice for photos. "So, you drive on the beach often?" Fo3 fucked around with this message at 17:11 on Nov 6, 2014 |

The Capri is just not a popular car in the US, and I could think of many cars I'd rather spend 8.5k on then a 40 yr old Capri that handles like dog poo poo.

According to wikipedia, the biggest engine you could get in it was the 2.6 V6 like that guy is selling. But even that only puts out 125hp, which isnt a crazy amount of power for a 2000+lbs vehicle. Its definitely an econobox by its very nature and marketing but that doesnt mean it cant be fun! (8.5k is too high though)
