This build is such an absurd meat grinder - brimstone with lil'brimstone and shielded contacts   lazarus seedAlso getting Mama's Boy with holy mantle just feels wrong. Lazarus has a lot of cool gimmicks especially if you get a really good first pill it seems, although I'm not a fan of how his respawn works making it so you basically want to die as fast as possible. Also Contract and 1+1 is ridiculous. I got fly spawning at one point - is it a consequence of guppy form? Also are there effects of luck aside from drop rate? I seemed to get hearts on taking damage with nearly zero items early game but with a luck boost?

As Lazarus when you die you respawn with one heart regardless of how many hearts you had and you get an extra ability that drops a blood trail when you take damage. It's not a big deal except if you're going to die at all you want to die early so you can pick up heart boosts again. Alternatively get a devil room and die by selling your hearts. This is a lot safer if you leave an extra heart or some soul hearts lying around.

It's creep trail for a room after you take damage, if you'd rather kill yourself immediately for it than save your respawn you're really stupid.

I mean, if you're never getting hit it's not very uesful, there are some rooms that are a pain to get through without the anemic blood trail so it's a nice bonus, but the respawn itself is 3 extra hearts to give up in devil room deals which is great, so on top of that if you're going to die it's better to die earlier than later so you can start accumulating hearts again.

The most useful use of Lazarus' extra life is that you can buy a devil deal that would normally kill you once.

Am I the only one who goes "Ugh" when they see War coming up next? Not because he's hard but because he likes to charge constantly and his charge does 3 passses. He rarely, if ever, hits me with the charge, he just takes up so much time as I can only get a couple hits in on each pass. It's like fighting trainers who spam Protect in Pokemon.

I was doing The Tank challenge and picked up Lucky Rock and Magic Fingers. Every rock I stepped on dropped a coin, which I could use to hurt enemies.  Then I did Slow Roll and picked up Chocolate Milk (after boss rush, unfortunately)  I love this game.

War is a pretty bad timewaster, considering that his other attack has him completely leave the arena. The Mask has never seemed that bad to me though - the actual mask part doesn't have that much health and you can hit it from the side.

In other news, I just had my most broken run just now (including anything i've come across in roughly 100 hours of vanilla). Some highlights: Started as Kane, got pentagram, halo, sacred heart (from random Joker card even though I had already gotten a devil deal), cricket's head, champion belt, blood of the martyr, jesus juice. On top of that, got Guppy, three blood bags and another 3 HP ups. Got bouncing tears. Got flaming tears. Yet somehow I walked into the heart fight and got insta-gibbed from 6 heart containers?
