Is the Judas unlock still bugged? I have basement boy, and I'm 99% sure I've completed the basement/cellars multiple times without taking damage, but he's still locked for me. I got Azazel today, so I know they're not completely broken. Edit: I'm dumb. Samson, not Judas. Lester Shy fucked around with this message at 01:44 on Nov 12, 2014 |

Hah, this has been the run of cheesing Satan deals. Why yes, I'll take that evil cloak that gives me 3 sin hearts when I'm down to half a soul heart as ???. Why yes I'll gladly take that dead cat off of you for 3 hearts, this time I have a full, singular heart to trade. Oh I didn't even die taking the cat? Then I'll gladly grab these two sin hearts you also provided me.

Dead Boy is definitely broken, I just got it after using the "facetank everything then heal it with the kamikaze/pyromaniac combo" strategy throughout the Chest. e: I guess maybe it somehow registered one of my old runs where I legit got it? Not sure.

I have a really weird but annoying issue where certain attacks automatically launch downwards whenever I enter a boss room. I've noticed it happening with Brimstone and today I found Dr. Fetus on the first floor and every time I entered a boss room I would automatically launch a bomb downwards which almost got me killed.

is Isaac supposed to be the final, toughest boss? I got there with 3 pretty flies so I literally just stood in place and fired and nothing could damage me. This one seems a lot easier than the original. It seems like every run I end up with some completely broken combination. Most recently I got mom's pills and the triple a battery. One of my pill drops could also be 48 hour energy so I was swimming in full health pills.

Isaac is easier than Mom/It's Alive. The bullet patterns are easy, the full screen lasers can be avoided by standing in the corner, and having 3 flies makes you immune to all of the bullets.

The original wasn't very hard. I mean if you look at the good players they were on 500 win streaks. This game seems easier in the beginning but starts to get a bit tougher once you unlock more items and have a bigger item pool to get bad items from. Also, I think the true challenge is hard mode and expect that most people that are playing the game for a challenge will play it that way.

I guess I never really played the original Binding of Isaac "for the challenge" so I think the difficulty of the new version is fine. I killed Mom for the first time ever today and it felt great, going to continue on from there and enjoy myself. I basically just play the game for the gameplay itself, to see all the broken item combinations and experiment with different trinkets and other pick-ups. It's a really great dickaround game, challenge be damned.

People who don't want a game that's so difficult that only the most extreme players can play it. I actually enjoy a challenging run so I'm one of those guys that won't restart games if my first item is lovely. My favorite runs are the ones where I start out with 4 or 5 floors of absolute poo poo and still find a way to win.

Cain's also been nerfed in Rebirth. In the original he could amass dozens of soul hearts and positive stat pills if you were prepared to grind every casino.

Yeah he's hardly bad, but it used to be that I'd just win half of my Cain runs by gathering an absurd number of soul hearts, which you can't do anymore. Unless you get a silly combo together you now at least have to avoid damage a little bit in the endgame.

Dead Boy is definitely bugged. I just beat the chest for a second time and took about 8 full hearts of damage during it. Still got it. I guess I'm just that good. I'm glad that Isaac is easier than Satan now. In the last game he was terrible. For those who didn't play it, all of his tears were retaliatory, meaning he fired a small barrage of 1-3 tears for every individual attack you hit him with. This meant that you could pretty much never kill him with a low damage, high fire rate build unless you had so many hearts that you could tank like 15 full hearts of damage. This was back when every floor beyond the depths made you take a full heart of damage form every damage source unless you had the wafer, mind.
