Well technically they have been doing that since Vice City (and maybe even 3) but more paramedic AI detail would be neat and also scary.

All I ask is for them to realistically portray a main character getting shot in the gut through the windshield on a getaway, realizing he's too far into the wilderness to get to a Doctor and calling his family to say his final goodbyes. Is that too much to ask?

Honestly a scene like that in the next multi character gta sounds about right. We loose the favourite half way through then the others avenge him/whatever

I've come to the conclusion that Rockstar was only able to create GTA V through a voodoo hex that drains the life and talent from all other developers.

I know it's super premature and I have no idea how making video games works but I wonder if Rockstar will have any easier time making the next GTA on the next gen consoles now that they've got V on ps4 and Xbox one. I liked 4 but I hope the next iteration is more on the scale of 5.

That's probably part of the reason they did it, seeing how the RAGE engine* checks out on the new consoles. *which is like saying ATM Machine, I know

I liked 4 but I hope the next iteration is more on the scale of 5. I would like to believe so, since in the PS2 era it was seen with the reused assets and engine knowledge. With 4 they had to make like an entirely new toolset, along with learning euphoria, havok and some other raw engine for gameplay (rage engine?). The shift in "realism" seems like it would take a huge amount of time and resources to fit the theme and style the writer's and producers had intended. I feel GTA4 was much more like GTA3 with its simplicity and not really trying too much, keeping it mostly safe. The DLCs sort of reflect it, other than possibly to the test waters with reception. I've heard the episodes of liberty city, separate or as an addon didn't sell too hot, but I am wondering if it was because I believe there was a timed 360 exclusivity or something.

I think part of the reason is that the shift from PS2 to PS3 tech was pretty massive, but the shift from PS3 to PS4 isn't as noticeable. A lot of it is still mostly the same, so they can get away with just updating the game instead of basically jumping ahead by 5 years.

Yeah, it that gif feels so much more personal because you can see the emotions in the clerk as he stares into your eyes (not your character's eyes). You can really see him contemplating his situation, then you feel what he's feeling for a moment. Of course I personally won't be satisfied until you can shoot somebody in the leg or something and they immediately fall to the ground and shriek or puke in shock, realizing their life will shortly be over as they then blubberingly cry for their mommy, or start apologizing to their chosen deity and begging for forgiveness, or of course the standard begging for you to spare them. Maybe we'll get lucky and Rockstar will give us a button to tell them to "stop being such a little bitch" as they lay helpless while you gun down their family on the spot. I'm pretty sure you can get this to happen, but you might have to shoot them in both legs, otherwise they'll keep trying to get away. I know I shot someone in the legs in GTA4 and they started to hold up their hand to block their face, might've begged a bit like "please, no" but I don't remember. I had been loving around with the euphoria engine in this regard for a bit and that was around the time I decided to focus on headshots to be more humane, which might be an odd conclusion to come to in a video game.

I mean I don't put ANYTHING past Fox but going from 3rd person to 1st isn't going to set it off if the base game didn't. There might be a segment ran and an interview with Keith Ablow about how Obama inspired the entire thing somehow, but no big outrage.
