Well, now you can get superior shield techs for 1m and everything else for 600kish ('cept ground, that jumped because of the mirror shotty), but at release they were all around ~1m. Plus, I got raped by some pretty bad luck. The shield was up to 40% chance at epic before I actually got it to loving turn and those things cost a fortune per roll.

Elite Fleet shields have become quite cheap, I think when the EC values of everything got slashed they were reduced as well. They are only 14K FC and 12.75K dil now so they are cheaper than the rep shields. I only just noticed this yesterday :downs:

Oh, wow. That has to be a mistake.

Although maybe they're making MkXII stuff cheap now that you've gotta take it to MkXIV.

Nah, they were always pretty cheap. It was the consoles (50k credits) and weapons (30k dil) that were painful. The mine discount made the dil side of things cheaper too.

I'll give Delta Rising one thing, Cryptic really stepped up their art design on star systems. They look so much better than all of their old stuff, it's all much more atmospheric. (Often literally)

Sell crafting supplies, the market fluctuates and this weekend is the crafting weekend, but for the most part upgrading as made pretty much anything crafting a hot seller. Unless you really really want those epics 14s you can pretty much sell all of your crafting supplies. Now pubbies will flood the market so normally I just buy it when it is low, wait for a while and turn it around when it is 8k~13k again.

These are all from just junk you get from stfs. So if you have been doing mirror at all, you can just sell some unwanted stuff.

Yeah, they made some great looking environments. The Kobali zone is really slick. A lot of the story missions are really well-done and even the patrols, at least the first time you do them, have some interesting elements.

I actually kind of feel bad for their artists. The art team delivered and their producers hosed it all up.

I don't know what they changed but kerrat is more populous than it was a week or two ago.

I've been able to test my super Brel against a bigger variety of opponents and have been pleased with the results.

I realized today it had for some reason un slotted my 3 projo and 3 a2b doffs, so I put them back in and was doing better than ever,

I've come across a couple of super duper tanky ships that seemed to be invulnerable even to sustained attack by multiple opponents, I just leave those guys alone and move on to non tank targets. Sometimes fancy sci people will get me with grav well and poo poo I dont recognize, but against tac ships, I can usually always destroy them.

My rotation is pretty simple, I've got THY3 and THY2 which can be fired back to back to send either 7 photons ( which crit for between 20-30k damage each) followed immediately by one more photon, or else 3 photons and a THY3 enhanced bio molecular boom boom, or 4 photons and a THY2 bio boom. Also have the transphobic cluster bomb, and rear mounted Gravity Torp. The big dick bio torp HY sometimes crits for more than 100k. I am not aware of anything in the game that would give me higher native crit rate than what I've got. As far as I know it is absolutely maximized, as is crit severity.

My buffs are tac team, APO, APB, and the tac captain fleet whatever thing. most of the time I don't use all or most.

I have three superior romulan tacs from the fleet base and one engineer with the stealth boost trait, also from embassy. Eng has engineering team and a2b. The heal is nice sometimes, and the aux2bat speeds up the heal cooldown and the APB. I could either have a sci or an eng in the 4th slot, I ddidn't put a whole lot of thought into it, I already had the 3 a2b techs and figured hey why not. I don't know much at all about eng or sci abilities.

With 3x projectile doffs I can usually keep up a steady stream of torps if the alpha strike fails.

Aux power is at max because of the aux-> dam thing somewhere, weapons power is at minimum since no energy weapons are used, shield power is at minimum because the shield is off when cloaked anyway.

I can't seem to get gateway to work on my iPad but if anyone wants to have a look at the build it is durak@repetitiveepic

When DR was released, kerrat was bugged so that level 60 players couldn't enter the zone. So all the hard-core players who poop-socked up to level 60 in the first few days finished the DR content, then found that they couldn't play in kerrat anymore. Now that it's fixed, I'm not surprised to see the population has increased.

That's my opinion as well. Coming over from EVE to STO because I'm a filthy casual, I was a bit disappointed in the visuals. CCP does the beauty of space thing really well. Cryptic has stepped it up, art-wise with DR.

Also, I'm up for PVP. I don't know if my fleet Mogh beam boat is pvp-worthy, but I like to pvp.

Lipstick Apathy
I'm about to hit rom reputation 4 on my fedrom and plan to stock her up with Romulan plasma beams (it violates my pretty space princess dress-up code to put yellow or red beams on her Mogai). I'm definitely getting the experimental beam, but am on the fence about the console and plasma torpedo. On the one hand I could really use some kinetic damage against the giant hull sponges, and I hear the set bonus clicky is powerful. On the other hand the ship is consoled entirely for energy damage, I'd need to put some torp skills on my tac boff, and the torpedo arc doesn't go well with beam broadsides. But just buzzing around with FAW isn't killing poo poo in elites lately.

What do?

The Romulan torp is a really good torp for PVE but as you said you don't really want a torp on a beam boat. The zero point console from Romulan rep is pretty great though, it gives a nice boost to power levels and more crits. You might be too tight for console space but I'd certainly run it over say the Nukara console. If you want Kinetic damage get the cutting beam from Omega rep. It unlocks fairly early in the rep and puts out decent kinetic at a 360 degree arc and has a very nice 2 piece set bonus with the Omega rep assimilated console.

Release!

New Delta Quadrant episode “What’s Left Behind”... an epilogue to the Delta Rising story line.

Well apparently they heard all of the people saying that it ended terribly.

Reduced the Skill Point requirement to go from level 0-5 in Starship Mastery by roughly 50%.
No earned Ship Mastery Skill Points will be removed from player’s ships.
Players who are in the process of leveling up a Starship Mastery level will have the Mastery level of the ship increase to match the roughly 50% decrease in points required.

Huzzah! I can have alternate ships! EDIT: initial login says they hosed this up. DOUBLE EDIT: you just have to kill something to make it process the promotions

Resolved an issue with the loadout system where saving tray layouts were not saving all slots correctly.

Again. Well, here's hoping they actually fixed it this time.

Salvage Specialist functions correctly as a Space Trait.
Also increased the hull percentage threshold from 10% to 25%.

Better, but requires a Talaxian so gently caress that poo poo.

Resolved an issue with "Give Your All" granting the incorrect Trait ability when slotted.

Oh good. That trait was one that actually looked useful.

Vaadwaur Battleships will no longer occasionally spawn with far too many hit points for their difficulty level.

loving GOOD, because I chased a single Vaadwaur Heavy Artillery Ship around for literally 10 minutes yesterday during a patrol.

I could never tell if that was an issue or intended, sometimes I'd run into a heavy artillery ship on normal just going through the storyline and it would take like ten minutes to burn through.

edit: and this was on my Inaji alt so yeah, not very well geared out but I can churn through all the other ships in five seconds and then just hit this tedious brick wall (called Delta Rising)
