I expect Coulson to show up in a post-credits stinger, that reveal seems perfect for those.

It would be hard to reintroduce Coulson to the films in a manner that feels organic to the story and not like a shoehorned-in plug for the TV series. Probably not impossible, but hard.

I dunno about that, dont the stingers usually reveal something unexpected to the audience rather than the characters? We already know coulson is alive, doesnt seem worth sitting through credits to have that rerevealed.

I think you guys are overestimating how much effort it would take to reintroduce Coulson to the mainstream public. Most people don't watch the show, having Coulson show up out of nowhere just to drop a line about how SHIELD is fine would suffice for 99% of the audience, who would just go "Oh it's that guy I like! He died? Well guess he's better now!" and move on.

If they wanted to, that's their in.

Barry Convex seems to have some personal stake in the show remaining separate from the films. Did he himself over it?

But it's not going to start being "important" to them, either, no matter how many of the fans choose to believe otherwise.

Barry Convex posted:Hardly. I just enjoy arguing about stupid poo poo on the Internet. See, I think you're grasping for reasons to justify your reasoning that the show is disconnected. There's this weird idea that even though they're laying on the Inhuman hints incredibly thick, and Feige has said that Inhumans are going to be important much sooner than we think, somehow the hints and the overt statements don't add up to Inhumans because "something something my ideas about this TV show wah im a dumb poopy babby" Agents of SHIELD is never going to essential. But that doesn't mean that it's not going to have plotlines that lead into the films or have plotlines that lead out of them. That, after all, is the purpose of the TAHITI and Clairvoyant storylines: To lead out of Avengers and into Captain America 2. They're laying it on really thick that something to do with the Kree and with human/Kree genetic experiments is going to happen. The whole human/kree thing seems like a huge part of Phase 3 what with the Captain Marvel, the Inhumans, and the overarching merger of the 'Cosmic' world of the Kree and the Guardians of the Galaxy with the cape stories of the previous films. I don't think anyone's realistically expecting Black Bolt and pals to turn up imminently. Personally I don't expect the lost city to even be there, what with the Inhumans having a mobile capital. But you seem super invested in this show somehow being totally separate from the rest of the MCU and that's weird.

There's tons of jobber inhumans, or even just create some new one for the show they could add. Coulson matter of factually saying Hawaiian names is pretty hilarious.

The same thing we got with the Clairvoyant, but better executed: a mystery plot that builds to something that becomes an issue in the movies and is realized in the show. So... a clue rather than an explicit reference, a direction rather than an exposition dump.

Prior to TWS, the Clairvoyant was always presented as an superpowered outside source, not a hint at him might being a Shield agent.

You might want to learn what words mean, because that means something other than "exactly the same." I think that part of doing the lead in/lead out thing better involves finding a better balance between not overtly spoiling things and doing a grotesquely oversized red herring.
