I just came back to the game recently, made a Romulan, got him to 40 still not really knowing what I'm doing at all. I got invited to some pubbie guild and told them repeatedly (10 times an hour) to assimilate their captains logs with my dyson sphere. Now that I've been kicked and blocked, wanted to link up with any goons who play when I do. I'm Lhaes, playing EST noonish on weekdays, whenever on weekends. I'm only really good at blowing up.

So what's the verdict on the t6 ships? I'm kinda enjoying the Faeht's whole thing even though it often dies to a stiff wind. And the Eclipse, I'm not sure how actually good it is In a "how does this compare to other endgame ships" sense, but it's way more interesting to fly than your standard cruiser. Of course Intel boffs help a lot. And I guess I have to keep in mind that fleet versions are coming eventually.

But since competitive PVP is stone cold dead and buried, just fly whatever. You can bumblefuck your way through any PVE content in any ship.

It cuts fire rate, but the individual strikes do more damage. The raw damage increase is very small, but when you're adding +40% ACC and Critical hit, you're getting a fuckload of benefit from your CritD. It's pretty common to see a the majority of your shots hitting for 15-35+k hits (depending on the tac consoles, your critd, etc) and that pretty melts anything you're pointing at. The main problem the skill had before was that it was bugged and made weapons fire as phaser damage while the skill was active, so your tac consoles weren't booting it. That's since been fixed.

What they really need is something where you set which of your boffs is the cold logical one, the brash womanizing one, the gruff but caring one, the Wesley, etc, and then have some dialogue written to those general categories that gets spouted by the appropriate doffs in missions.

I've never been one hundred percent sure what to do with an Lt Commander sci slot on a PvE ship. I've got Grav Well in a Commander slot and decent partigens, but... most of the offensive sci abilities are pretty meh in PvE. TBRs are fun but ultimately pretty pointless either way they're going. There's a weird undocumented thing where the dyson secondary deflector's shield drain effect is massively magnified on charged particle burst (it's something like four or five times what it is on the other listed skills, and winds up draining a good two times as much as what CPB itself does) but that's really only something to toy around with if you have the deflector and absolutely hate TBR.

Depends? If you don't have an intel/T6 ship now's as good a time as any to grab one. They'll be adding fleet ones later on but they'll probably take 5 or 6 fleet modules and you won't get a trait for it. Beyond that... if you have need of character slots or doff slots or something, grab those. Otherwise it's all vanity purchases, so grab whatever you like and feel like spending dil/cash on?
