Surely this is a barrier to free trade? If I can import my german stuff in a butt dvds, but not buy them from good ol Blightly then that's putting British porno producers at a disadvantage in the EU internet porn dvd market. C'mon Comission, save our five digits beyond the knuckle fisting porn!

Doubt anyone cares about porn. But the piling on of legislation and various filters sure is going to make their life easier in the future when they want to crack down on "subversive types".

Would I be correct in thinking that you would be unable to distribute any UK-produced porn involving facesitting, female ejaculation, full bondage, watersports, rough sex (spitting, hair pulling, gagging during fellatio, verbal abuse) et al. from the UK (either on DVD or, now, as video on demand), as the BBFC would not issue a certification? Or have I also managed to misinterpret things. Because even that is pretty bad. I realise it's effectively meaningless as (bizarrely, given how draconian that all is) you can still import and no smart UK producer will host in the UK, but those are depictions of (I hope) consensual sex, viewed by consenting people.

British porn channels seem to all be about grannies, drunks or old men having sex with schoolgirls. I think this tells us a lot about the older generations who would ever actually wank to a telly. Even at its most sweeping and draconian, UK censorship will always be easily foiled by either googling "banned site name" + "proxy" into google or changing your IP to the US. Our government is a gaggle of evil or stupid or stupid and evil toffs and they are legitimately trying to do a lot of conspiracy style stuff, luckily they're completely incapable of even folding a towel.

Are they purposefully loving the country over or are they just stupid ideologues being easily manipulated by big money? To be fair to them I think the majority of ministers are just incredibly stupid and myopic. Well educated, but so very stupid.

To start off Wednesday on the right foot, Labour have decided to criticise the Conservatives for not cutting the deficit faster, ahead of the Autumn Statement. linkquote:The party said ordinary families were paying the price for Mr Osborne's failure to fulfil his promise at the last general election in 2010 to clear the deficit and start paying down Britain's debt by the end of the current Parliament. They're so eager to have a pop at the Tories, they're willing to completely contradict their own 'slow deficit reduction' position in doing so. Eugh.

It is always wise to be dubious of this given the powerful can use incompetence as an excuse to hand wave away their actions. Boris Johnson being a big example. When they make mistakes it is often very quickly corrected. Cameron likely thought he was being very helpful when he nearly suggested in a speech that the UK population should focus on paying down debts. It was caught even before he could deliver the speech and a paradox of thrift that would've hurt donor's profits was avoided. On the other hand "mistakes" that lead to tidy profits for donors don't get held up at all.
