I'm kinda surprised there isn't a Medi-Gun already that has as it's Uber the Projectile Shield from MvM, I'm thinking it'd work like the Vaccinator in that it'd have multiple charges(in it's case 2, one at 50% and one at 100%), but in exchange it heals at 50% the speed of Stock, and either has a max Overheal of 20% of what Stock can give or possibly be unable to Overheal at all(whichever would be more balanced), I'll admit this might be an awful idea though

The buffs for the BFB were kind of a shame in my book, if only because they got rid of the tighter spread, and I really liked my scatter gun being viable at longer ranges, I'd use the shortstop for that but I just can't hit stuff with it for some reason. Maybe they'll scale it up a little and make it a really slow but powerful assault rifle thing for heavy. KluddKluddKluddKludd.

An invisibility medigun would be pretty awesome, just invis an engineer to somewhere useful and quickly drop down some buildings. Maybe have it make a really loud obnoxious noise while invisible so the other team at least knows something might get janky.

Every time Valve comes up with a cool idea that they realise is ridiculously overpowered or not fun to play against, I'm pretty sure they stick it in MvM as an upgrade. Heavies knocking people back and destroying projectiles, Soldiers' rocket specialist, Snipers explosive headshots, Medic's projectile shield and Engie's 2-way teleporters and extra sentry were probably all tested for normal TF2 before they stuck them in there.

Engineer primary that restores ammo the way the medigun restores health. Call it the iDispense or something and have it eat up metal at x rate.

Also I really want that invisibility uber now. So many possibilities.

I feel like having a smaller clip is definitely a downside to the BFB, but then again my aim on scout isn't great, especially when I'm moving at ultra high BFB speeds. The regular scattergun gives me more chances to screw up, and enough shots that I don't feel vulnerable switching out a pistol for milk or something like that. I guess at higher skill levels that might become a non-issue though.

You see, usually the scout has a problem like you said with running out of shots in the middle of the battle (especially if you aren't using a pistol) and I guess valve thought that's how the BFB would be balanced. But its just not enough, the upsides of the weapon make almost a non-issue, if you run out of shots with the scattergun your reaction will be to fall back and reload, making use of the scout's speed to run off from danger. The BFB makes this waaaay easier since nothing can catch you apart from a skilled rocket or sticky jumping Soldier or Demoman (unless you somehow missed every shot and have no boost).

This wildly screws up Scout vs Scout encounters, which are otherwise one of the most intense and skill dependent situations in the game since you can't just run away from another scout if you run out of bullets when the two of you are using any other primary, you usually have to duke it out until one of you is dead which means whoever can connect the most shots. With the BFB you're not only harder to hit, you can outrun another scout to grab some health or reload which is complete bullshit that puts you at an obvious advantage without much need for skill.

I wish steam would come up with a better way of trading than trade offers. If someone puts an offer up and you meet it it should go through automatically rather than having to wait up to two weeks for them to accept.

And why isn't metal considered fungible? One trade offer going through cancels another one because they use the same single piece of metal even though they're totally interchangable. Why isn't everything just marketable?

1 scrap = 2 weapons, or looking at it the other way around 1 weapon = 1/2 scrap.

39 weapons is 19 1/2 scrap, the weapon is your half-scrap worth of change.

Show your cross hairs.

A seemingly insignificant detail? I have had view models off for years and used a tiny green circle for some reason. I just changed back to the default cross hair and turned it dark pink. Holy poo poo it stands out. On scout while it seems to distract me at times I hit more shots, way more.

I have been told by people that know these things that your eye gets used too what ever cross hair you use and it's worth regularly changing it too keep your mind aware of that sweet spot in the screen. There is even a script that constantly changes the cross hair on the fly based on this theory.

Any way - who knows I had the same one for so many years. It's fun trying different things though.

I've been using a big neon green dot because I feel like it stands out more than a white circle. Regularly changing the colours sounds like an interesting idea, I might try it out. God knows I need the help with my scattergun aim.

The Baby Face Blaster has virtually no downside. It lets a scout easily escape any encounter, and 4 shots is more than enough to win a 1v1 with the massive speed advantage and ambush potential. It's so unfun to play against. It's the new Soda Popper.

The Backscatter has no purpose as it is. Every scattergun does what it does just fine without minicrits (especially the BFB). Now if they gave it to the Heavy... it would still be crap, but the Heavy would have another shotgun so I'm cool with it.

Yup, agreed on all points.

The BFB isn't quite a straight upgrade in numerical terms, but in actual gameplay it's unquestionably better than stock. You have an insignificant amount of slowdown until you do an insignificant amount of damage, at which point you become a rampaging monster who moves around at nearly double standard movespeed. You have 2 less shots, but that doesn't matter because you have absolutely total control over starting and ending engagements. Just run around a corner and reload, and you can be back in their face before they take a step. And now it's virtually impossible to lose your boost once you have it.

It was a fun and interesting weapon when it forced a limitation on your movements - there was a tradeoff between greater engagement control and much more limited dodging and flanking options. You started below standard movespeed, it took a lot of damage to build up charge, and you could lose it all if you jumped even once. Now it's just The Best Weapon For Scout, and that's something Valve ~supposedly~ wanted to avoid.

And yeah, the Backscatter gives a minor damage buff in a situation where you're guaranteed a kill anyway. If you're in the rear arc and they don't see you, then just close in for a meatshot. Doing minicrits from midrange is a 35% damage buff, whereas closing in from midrange to point blank takes you from 10-40 damage to 90-150 - a 265% to 900% damage buff. Most importantly you ensure more pellets hit, so you're doing reliable damage instead of getting a minicrit chip shot where 9/10 pellets miss.

It's useless garbage.

Because the system is designed to exchange weapons for an equivalent amount of metal - it just so happens that the "penny" of TF2's metal system is a weapon. The way the system is looking at it, it's just giving you your proper change.

The system already has to handle the case where a user is manually dragging weapons in a trade window and drags in an odd number - in this case, it needs to return a weapon or it would be stealing the user's change. The auto-scrap is probably not "smart" - it's likely programmed to run a simple loop which finds all appropriate items in your backpack and sets up a trade offer, built on top of the existing scrapping system. You could write in a special case to only auto-scrap an even number of weapons, but why bother when the existing "change" system already handles it? Plus yeah, you could give the user a new weapon they don't have.

Really the Extra Sentry and the Rocket Specialist(and maybe the Heavy Stuff) are the only ones of those I could really see being overpowered, the others could be balanced by giving the weapons they'd be attached to reasonably strong drawbacks, like for example the Two-Way Teleporter can't be upgraded, and both halves cost a full 200 Metal to build

That would be useless, though. There's no reason to teleport back to spawn outside of the first few minutes of the game, and that's only for the engineer. The reason it's so good in MvM is that you have to go all the way back to spawn in between every wave, as well as in the middle of longer waves to refill your canteen.

Ok I'll admit that one wasn't a good example, but the idea stands that one could make some of the MvM upgrades part of their own weapons if properly balanced(I could see the Mad Milk Syringes being their own gun if given a reasonable drawback for example)

The tide turner should not have damage resistances. If the tide gave absolutely no damage resistance people would still use it over other shields when demoknighting. Then, you can throw the resistances from the tide turner on the wee booties.
