Well, the Sydney Police are handling this better than WAPOL, at least. Last time a cafe was held up in Perth both the gunman and a victim were shot.

okay is it just me or is it weird that the ABC 24 news presenter is doing the sports broadcast while standing directly in front of one of the police cordons. Like I understand she was already there, but really?

So the ABC have said they have been contacted by the gunman and are complying with police, and Hugh Riminton has said Ch9 has been asked, along with others, not to broadcast demands from the gunman. What the gently caress are you playing at Ch10?

I feel sorry for the man. He obviously has issues and did not get the support he needs. Probably because of how racist Australia is, and prejudiced against non whites. The social problems caused by a Australians vilification of the Other leads to tragic outcomes. This warped interpretation has no credible relation with true Islam.

Agreed, and it's not hard to sympathize with his taking of asian and indian hostages given their complicity with the white power structure in this country in it's efforts to marginalize and alienate muslims.

Someone's moral values being shaped by their environment?!?! Obviously the real problem here is a particular religion whose followers are all a collective hive mind with no diversity of thought within that particular religion whatsoever. Just like every other religion where every follower believes the exact same thing and shares the exact same political and moral values.
