Having played a quick round of the Mannpower beta, vampirism is crazy overpowered. Getting all the damage you deal back as health is practically a permanent quick fix uber, you can only really be taken down by snipers, spies or crits as long as you're dealing damage. I'd probably only drop that for the 30 seconds of crits.

Stranges from crates are very rare this year so far - 1 in 15 to 1 in 20 is what I'm hearing. I opened 5 Naughtys, no stranges (and no festive shotgun ) and I guess that's about normal. Now to wait an entire week before being able to attempt to sell the duplicate festive revolver.

It's no 60% move speed increase but you could output a decent bit of damage if you land your shots. Landing your shots is definitely the hard bit though, it's difficult to know when exactly the gun is going to fire so you have to play tracking the other player like a pistol/minigun instead of flicking on click.

But it's better to release an underpowered weapon and fix it later than break the game with a broken one and fix it when people are likely to base their playstyles solely around the original.

The new shotgun definitely seems underpowered but I think the two new demoman weapons are pretty good sidegrades. The grenade launcher lets you actually have reliable rollers, rather than having them randomly bounce everywhere, and a 0.2 second faster arm time on the stickybomb launcher doesn't sound like much but it makes it a lot more viable as an offensive weapon. Being able to destroy enemy stickybombs with a launcher that actually works as an offensive weapon is pretty huge too. The inability to make traps is also huge, and the damage penalty hurts it a bit, but from the quick playaround I had with it, it seemed like a super solid sidegrade. Edit: Making the demoman more focused on playing offensively is really good for the flow of the game in my opinion. I love the new demoman primary. The downsides are negligible and the upside has a surprise bonus of being super hard to airblast against. If a pyro airblasts the iron bombs on their way down, it'll still plant right at his feet anyway and maybe kill him all the same. Also the fact that the pipes just sorta plant right where they land makes it super good for filling a choke point with bombs and not letting anyone through safely. It is nicer than I expected and I may use it in place of the standard pipe launcher. A solid sidegrade. EDIT: It is also significantly better for pipe jumping with than the default, making it the go-to pipe launcher if you want to sticky jump around while also using a shield. If every class has a grappling hook, explosive jumping and scouts seem kind of less useful. Mobility is free! At the very least the grapple-retract speed should be proportional to your run speed.

The grappling hook is loving rad. Heavy is crazy good because of it, though. Some things I've noticed about the update. Agility gives you more ammo in a clip. Demo has eight pipes, for example Heavy gets like 400 health or some bullshit with vampirisim and warlock, which is insane. Even more after you start killing people with vampirism Lock n' Load isn't that useful Precision makes explosives fly much faster. Like, the regular rocket launcher is faster than the direct hit. Scouts with agility don't seem to go faster with full Baby Face's Blaster charge, it seems like it's set to max speed either way The crit power up does not overwrite a normal one so you can have the damage boost and crits at the same time This update is unquestionably the best and most fun in a long time for me, but they do need to balance some stuff.
