The Iron Bomber is actually much better than you'd think. You can pick pretty precisely where you want your rollers to end up and that's real nice, and there's no damage penalty for direct hits so it's still fine for straight up killing people. I think the -25% radius was a bit much and leaves it a little weaker than it needs to be but in the end I really like it.

How about : Balancing the classes so the likes of spy and pyro are of more than marginal use and heavy and medic aren't the hardest slots to fill in highlander lobbies because they're boring. Balance the myriad of unlock weapons, most of which are either crutches, OP, gimmicky or useless. Fix frame-rate drops when there's no reason for a game with such low fidelity and effects to have such low frame-rates. Fix all the clogged-up maps which don't have enough flanking routes or are too hard to push. Fix the myriad of bugs. Match-making. Allow all tradable items to be marketable now buying keys to trade for metal takes a week. Training modes for all classes. More informative tool-tips. Voice chat that's quicker and has voice-activation. Abolish polls on valve servers. Abolish mid-round autobalance. Use bots to fill in gaps like CSGO. Nerf soldier.

Thanks for the replies dudes. The sticky nerf seems like an interesting solution and the Iron Bomber looks like the most interesting of the new weapons. The new shotgun essentially just loads shells like a Beggar's Bazooka and then fires faster and with more spread as health decreases? That seems really odd and sorta dumb but I haven't tried it yet.

You're correct, it's odd and sorta dumb. It seems like they intended it to be a backup weapon when you're about to be killed, but... a normal shotgun is way better at that because you don't need to take the time to load it. And you won't have the spread penalty. And it's better in all other situations as well

If it started with 4 shots and just had a super long reload time it could be a lot more viable at least.

Air bursting being so effective always felt to me like it was unintended considering Meet the Demoman, but Valve never touched it because it ended up being the cornerstone of offense in competitive play.

I'm more talking about control points than A/D(because control points is better than A/D), and I'm talking about when poo poo gets bogged down and neither side can get anywhere because there are sentries everywhere. So you go demo or soldier, probably the only one on your team, and then the short circuit makes it near impossible to take down the engie's nest. And there are almost certainly more engies right behind that one.

The Short Circuit isn't fun to play against, but that's balanced by the fact that it isn't fun to play. In the end it's a wash. If the RED defense has three perfectly positioned sentries with an even complement of SC engies, Gunslinger repair-moneys and Wrangler-whores, as well as a smattering of Pyro-checkers, Kritz-medics and offensive pickets, then congrats they outplayed your team and join a CP server where they can't do that.

I disagree with Fojar on just about everything he's been saying, but christ the doomsaying from some of you is frankly even worse. I get it, Valve hasn't made stuff you like recently so you're getting weary of the game. I felt the same way at one point, stopped playing for a while, and came back and enjoyed the game again. Say goodbye if you really must, but please for the sake of everyone who still quite enjoys shooting men in funny hats, stop chiming in repeatedly to remind us that you're pretty sure the game is dying and this will be the last time we all gather here to argue about balance, for sure, it's almost over now this time you really mean it. Mock the stupid pubbie poo poo that must be mocked. Lament the lack of good private servers these days. But as far as the future is concerned, we'll either keep finding shreds of (really actually quite good still) gameplay, or we won't. This thread can be a good resource to help with that!
