There some new items and stuff to but the focus is mostly on group play balance which makes a lot of it difficult for most early to late mid solo stuff. Just hit hard mode myself and it got really freaking challenging again. Overall the current n mod version is really good. It's a lot of fun and I hope it's creators do similar stuff with Starbound.
