incidentally it's also worth noting that a lot of tribes don't follow the same rules for lineage as white people do eg. my great-grandmother is meskwaki, so by white people rules i am 1/8 meskwaki however by meskwaki rules membership in the tribe is passed through the mother, so my grandmother is entirely meskwaki, and so is my father, and my paternal aunt and her children, and my female cousin's children...but i am not, nor are my male cousin or his children.
