I always laugh at people who look at Saint's Row as anything more than a "jump in and gently caress poo poo up/have fun in an open world" type of game, which is the best parts of GTA.

Gat Out of Hell seems pretty alright and I'd like to play it at some point. I thought 3 was a fun but flawed and 4 just went so far into the silly that I ended up not caring. I really hope they stop escalating the whacky for 5.

Infinitum posted:I don't know.. I'm not seeing much game there other than an experience/tech demo. After a week or so with the Oculus Rift you'll burn through all the demos and experiences' and similiar hunks of crap and start searching for something with actual gameplay to it made by an actual game developer. It seems to have made great inroads into the entire sim genre, for more or less obvious reasons. Games like Assetto Corsa and the upcoming Project: Cars both tout full Rift integration, not just because it looks neat but because that entire part of the control scheme is something that has been hard to “fix” in the racing genre before. ETS2 actually has fairly good automated camera controls, even though it's hardly even needed for what you're doing — for racing games (to say nothing of stuff like combat flight sims), not looking straight ahead is spectacularly important. While I haven't tried it, it apparently makes it a lot easier to judge your speed as well — at least if the VR is well done — which helps.

From the Alien: Isolation thread: I played to Medical with my Rift, and then I had to stop. It was making me physically ill from stress/anxiety. I mean that's either a stunning recommendation or a great reason not to do that, depending on your viewpoint.

GENDERWEIRD GREEDO posted:given that Steam has completely given up on any sort of curation whatsoever but decided to take a stand on steamy anime dating games, i applaud this gross man's idea to just tell people how to unlock the nude anime babes and potentially force Valve to make the call that "it's not ok to patch nude anime babes into this game or any game" Nude anime boobs was alright actually and is in the game as is, the problem was anime vaginas and anime female ejaculation. quite honestly while the game itself existing is sort of funny in way that's been a thing for years now, what makes this interesting is the fact it's apparently sold very well (as I've posted before) and the emergance of Visual Novels being sold on steam pretty much is going to actually create a softcore porn sub genre on Steam. Porn games outside of newgrounds and fringe Japanese porn games haven't been really been a thing but now just might be. Games are growing up for better and for worse

It's just a shame that they followed that up with one of the absolute worst games ever made and destroyed any chance of a LSL comeback. NutritiousSnack posted:Nude anime boobs was alright actually and is in the game as is, the problem was anime vaginas and anime female ejaculation. There's only so far games where legit pornographic content is the main thing can get on a platform like Steam though, unless they add a way to completely hide the existence of games on your account. A lot of people have real life friends and such on their friends list, and while the fact that a shitload of people watch all kinds of porn on the internet is a pretty widely acknowledged thing by now, the vast majority of people are always going to want to keep it private or at least hide behind more anonymity than what Steam provides. Even moreso when we're talking animes. Personally it's not my thing but I can't really get morally outraged about it either, like I half-joked earlier real life porn is often tied to all sorts of lovely crime that legitimately harms a lot of people and yet it's a gigantic business, so to me someone drawing cartoon tits in dumb games people can laugh at seems like a really minor issue in comparison. Will there be a game to it at some point, or is it literally just "Hitman at an all-girls anime school but without goals"? I guess the part where she loses her poo poo because there's blood all over her but then is miraculously cured when she changes outfits was pretty neat. And you can just casually talk to people covered in blood, no big.

I've bought it and am going to a mates place tomorrow to download it and like 100+ steam games. I'm between houses at the moment, and I've got nothing but a tethered mobile to download games. loving Wolfenstein New Order is 44gb.. I've got a bunch of utilities to implement VR in games without native support, so I'm looking forward to fiddling about to get games like Skyrim and Borderlands 2 to work. Which is why I really really like No Limits 2. 0 fiddling with menus and configs. The VR is integrated perfectly. No loving about. Launch the game "Oh do you want the VR version? Yep? Cool! Here's the menu rock out. The R button recenters you. Enjoy some roller coasters" I really cannot stress how loving important a point that is and how good that feels as a Rift user; a fact I'm sure other owners share. The VR just works, and works well. Kudos to the devs, as it validated my Rift purchase and elavated it to a real bit of gaming kit rather than just a cool bit of tech you can show off to friends and family. Also have a Leap Motion controller on its way so I'll have something else to dick about with as well.
