Akumos posted:

It's pretty obvious my problem is with people self appointing their cliques the overseers of goon camps, not items. It just happens that as soon as duping was discovered, every useful gun was immediately shoved into their personal storage to be duped for them to hand out to people when they felt like it, instead of continuing to supply the community chests, even though goons would sit around all day defending them. Yeah, people would take too much poo poo out and waste it, but more people could've just started duping to spam more full chests of gear in there instead of playing dictator simulator where one guy is controlling the most important room in the base and deciding who gets to have gear or not. Basically what I'm saying is, what the gently caress was the point of gathering goons if they're just going to horde everything to hand out? It seemed like it was supposed to be a community effort to defend and share, there was a point where they literally had people form a single file line to take gear and be checked for what was being carried out. It was like the loving apocalypse TSA.

Akumos posted:

Why the gently caress is "autism" being redefined as "talking about any topic in-depth/analyzing an issue"? I get that it's funny to say sometimes but it feels like you seriously have to pretend every thread is some GBS shitposting thread now or you're autistic.

Akumos posted:

I can stop after this too, but I don't really remember that at all, I'm pretty sure at the point we were doing that it was late into the night and people were pretty much done doing things. We were all just sitting around camp doing nothing, I wasn't interrupting important conversations, pretty sure that's just some imagined story. It's not like I asked you to log over to another character while you were raiding a camp and wouldn't shut up about it while others were coordinating something, there was nothing loving going on and you were still being a shithead about it. I probably repeated myself a few times because I wanted to explain my reasoning for making you go through the effort of duping gear for me, I didn't want it to seem pointless, I wanted to make it clear from that point I'd be keeping my own loot in check and wouldn't have to bother anyone else, god knows I didn't want to have to loving deal with people being whiny about me just talking about it anymore. Unfortunately this was before I knew you could just drop poo poo and relog, at this point we were still shooting each other in the head, otherwise I'd have just grabbed a bit of each and stopped talking and duped myself everything.

Akumos posted:

Yeah and this is part of the reason it annoyed me, I wanted to get my own set of gear so I could self-sustain instead of begging for loot and I had to listen to you being a condescending shithead the entire time because I was trying to explain why I just wanted one box of my own copies. You helped me but you were really obnoxious in the process, it was very audibly obvious you were annoyed by me for no reason. I don't want to deal with that poo poo, and it's why I thought you had access.

Apparently the people questioning if this is how the group operates are correct, because you're now admitting that me simply wanting access to a set of gear so I can self-sustain is "crying".. yeah, I'm sure glad we had to setup that system, I love that you forced me to ask permission for gear so you can make fun of me for asking for gear. :pwn:

Akumos posted:

lmao what? A few people literally setup a room they called "dupe room" and specified only a few people had access to protect goons from their own stupidity. This room had all of the useful guns/ammunition, and people had to ask permission to come inside and get their gear. To be fair there were enough people giving out the useful loot but it was still kind of awkward to have been duping for the camp one day and the next day I come on a few people declared themselves the only trustworthy people enough to horde the important items. It's honestly a super pointless debate at this point anyway because there is SO much loving duped gear/ammo out there that anyone can get you a set now to make your own stash, but the idea of it initially kind of threw me off because people were self appointing themselves the overseers of the camp, keeping the lowly peons away from their precious shekels.

Akumos posted:

idk, I though it was you/satan and one other guy who had access, maybe that was just satan and maniak? But yeah you've been helpful/maniak has been helpful, it was just a little obnoxious being told by <3-4 people no one else can be trusted even when I would personally be protecting their rooms all night/morning when no one else is on and had just put a bunch of duped ammo up in the chests for us to use. I don't think there is ever going to be a time when something like that doesn't annoy people. Unless you can imagine yourself handing over all of the good loot to me and letting me pick 2 other people to have access to it to hand out, it's a little retarded to expect me to be alright with others deciding to do the same. People are going to feel alienated by that kind of poo poo because it moves from community storage to Great Leader ration room. It'd honestly have bothered me less if those people just declared they had their own private stashes and they were willing to dupe good gear for goons, but instead it was more like.. well we've moved everything useful into a specific room a handful of us have access to, we'll let you pick something out if you behave.

Akumos posted:

I don't care about splintering, I still want to play with everyone, I just found the camp to be a giant annoyance. I was there when a few goons started duping(technically I was the first one to notice d/cs duped gear) and we put it in the community room and kept the leftover piles of ammo to move under the trailer, we were just going to keep piling ammo and poo poo into the community area, then I come on after waking up and suddenly all of the duped ammo is locked up in your private room and people have to ask permission to get gear, lmao. Like I said, I understand why you guys did it, and it was probably necessary to deal with retards taking everything out, but now everyone has duped gear and can easily sustain themselves. At this point the only point in a base is to save cars, it's not worth constantly trying to defend the base in the early AM with hackers and glitchers loving with you. I think what should've happened is you just kept an alt character or two with all the masters copies you can dupe on, if anything you guys are the first splinter by deciding you own everything good and forming the illuminati clique that consists of like 4 people who have access to the core of the base while everyone else needs to be escorted in. That's not really a goon community, that's a few people leading a clan and telling recruits what to do/treating them like retards(some are.)

When I call you the illuminati clique, it's because a handful of you arbitrarily decided you're more intelligent/reliable than 95% of the others playing and only you should be trusted to watch over the important gear in camp while everyone else needs to beg to get what they need out of your locked room. That's a separate group, a splinter, you've decided you're above everyone else and in another category and anyone that wants to come along with you needs to play by your rules. It's no longer a community camp, it's your cliques camp, or am I wrong? Where can I submit my Trusted Goon resume? How would you feel if you were on the outside of that, and you had to ask for my permission to get loot? If I decided only my other 2 friends should have access to the important base rooms? At this point you already have enough duped poo poo that it doesn't matter, you can self sustain, but that's also my point. I don't need your permission to get gear anymore, I can just go make my own and not have to deal with it.

i dont even play this game or read most (any) of your posts but you sound annoying AF

Honestly it sounds like the system worked perfectly. Goons got together, built a fort, duped a ton of guns and ammo, filled all the supply chests, and set aside enough gear that a few goons could fill the supply chests whenever it was deemed necessary. Then, as tends to happen, goons took all the gear in the supply chest so everyone is geared up and happy and good to go for a while, no need to bother unlocking the dupe room and duping a bunch of poo poo right this second, right guys? Then 1 random goon shows up and throws a fit because there is no gear in the box but jesus christ it's just one goon someone give him a gun already so I don't have to go do this thing I already did for three hours today.

Why didn't you just ask a random goon to dupe some poo poo for you real quick or toss you a gun and some ammo so you could get started instead of needing to go to the special occasions closet?

Yep, exactly. The other day I got kitted out with an AR, a .45 and a shotgun from the public stash without a single complaint or spergy micromanagement from these apparently egregious goon overlords, so whatever.

The game and the community are still very much in their infancy so maybe chill the hell out and give it some time to solidify before people start pissing and moaning about dumb poo poo.

That was my experience as well.

SOMEBODY had to take point and start herding all the cats on meth (i.e. goons). The "overlords" spent a whole bunch of time building goonbase 1.0 and getting the gear alot of were given (only to die and have it looted off our cold corpses by hackers). The only thing that was said that could remotely be construed as spergy micromanagement or overlording was "don't take all the ammo and good stuff (because you'll die and all that stuff you don't need will be gone too)".

It was actually really sage advice because I promptly died 45 minutes later.

God Bless the Enclave! God Bless America!
I almost felt bad taking gear from the public storage since I felt like I took too much. Did I really need a .45 and a shotgun? No, but there was 30 shotguns and 1000 rounds of ammo so why not. The only real issue I saw with the public loot system was people tended to take blackberry juice and not return the empty bottles. Kind of annoying but not a huge deal.

When duping is finally fixed it won't be guns and ammo we have a problem with. It'll be empty bottles. Those things disappear in seconds and never return.

there aren't any goon cliques

people like werkwerk or blazing zero might seem like the leader of some overseer clique, but thats just because they take on the unenviable task of leading goons out to do fun poo poo and then making sure people don't do dumb poo poo at camp or yell at each other or bicker or whatever

People need to stop giving a gently caress about equipment.

You will lose everything anyway. Either through character wipes, goon drama or raids.

Embrace the Rambo lifestyle. The only thing you need is a handful of black berrys, and a make shift bow.

Remember: the best loot container to search is a dead pubbie.

The GOON ILLUMINATI CLIQUE CONSPIRACY was that one Goon realized we were going to blow through all our duped guns and ammo without realizing it so he made one copy of everything and locked it away where no one can get it. Then to everyone's shock and surprise we ran out of guns and ammo because no one thought to save any and 20+ Goons were loading up and wandering the map losing stuff all over the place. Luckily it turns out we had a "dupe room" with an extra copy to save the day so it's a semi-official practice now.

To be fair, the dupe room had over a dozen chests with piles upon piles of equipment. The best part of all this to me is that before the dupe methods were discovered and equipment was hard to come by, it all went in the common chests...but as soon as everything became literally infinite it went under lock and key. loving goons.

A make shift bow is a OHK if you get a headshot.

Find a container that someone will search. F. Camp it from some dark corner. Wait for someone to search it.

Murder them. Take their stuff, listen to their wailing on voice chat.

I am the mystery person whom you couldn't remember. I am the true leader of the goon Illuminati. Let me explain how stuff works so you can better understand your place in our goontopia.

Gaysatan used his own room with his own locked door (HENCE THE LOCKED PART OF HIS ROOM). He asked if others wanted to help. Myself and Maniak decided to answer the horn of goondor's call. We next spent around 3 hours procuring 10k+ rounds of ammo and parts to build stuff. I provided the 308 and ammo originally which lead to at least 5+ goons shooting horribly into trees at a thousand yards. I also provided the twine which no one else had. Another random good went out looking for the AR15 and found one. They provided that weapon, someone else provided their shotgun/handgun. Yet another goon found a weapons repair kit to give. All the magical duping going on used pretty much NOTHING from the communal area. I spent the next 3 hours picking up every single helmet, backpack, and green shirt that some people are still wearing. Then imagine what happened after we decided we had enough to give every goon a helmet, backpack, shirt, weapons and ammo. Gaysatan let every single goon who was online into his room to get equiped. I told them we should keep 1x of all the items as a master copy until they fixed the duping. So someone else maybe maniak I think? Took those items as a backup to his own room (HENCE THE LOCKED PART).

This is a secret, but all it takes is effort on your part if you feel like you've been left out. Get your story straight before you run here crying about some poo poo that never happened. The people who put in the most effort are often looked at as the leaders even though they never said or asked to be such.
