North Carolina playing NCA&T and Delaware? I assume some FBS school bailed on them suddenly for one of those dates?

This is like when DC Metro changed its definition of "on-time" to be "arrived with 20 minutes of its scheduled time" so that they could say their on-time percentage went up, except worse because this is football

I just want it to end with, "... and that's why after a mind-blowing, seemingly impossible streak of 140 losses in a row, none by less than 28 points, the University of Miami is shutting down its football program. The program's historic 240-point loss to Florida State mid-season is considered to be the moment that both fans and players of the program surrendered all hope and embraced nothingness." Then instead of that .gif that pans up from Sebastian's feet with him firing a machine gun there can be a new one that pans up to see him sticking a shotgun into his mouth. Oh, and one last thing: Coach Al Golden has been there all 20 years, and every year publicly motivating his team with awesome, truly inspiring poo poo like RISE AND GRIND and WE-fense.

Yeah, BYU is a legit good program and I wouldn't consider it moving the goal posts to count it as a P5 team on your schedule. You can't tell me BYU is a level below Purdue or Vandy.

I have no idea what to think about BYU because they'll do things like beat Oklahoma then get blown out by FSU three weeks later then squeak one out over New Mexico but blow out Wyoming and you're like "so are they good or not, its impossible to tell."

Mike Alden is resigning as Mizzou's AD at the end of August. Hey Virginia Tech guys--what are your thoughts on Whit Babcock in general? Do you think he's doing a good job, has he done anything particularly memorable, whatever? I don't have any idea if he'd be interested or if Mizzou wants him, he's just on the list of guys who've worked with Alden at Mizzou and are ADs now. Just looked him up and I didn't realize he's only been there a year at this point, so maybe he wouldn't leave anyway unless something's wrong.

Whit's pretty beloved in the fanbase already. Get the feeling he's going to stick around for awhile, too. Grew up in Harrisonburg, played ball for JMU(located in Harrisonburg), got Masters at WVU, he's pretty much home at VT.

I agree that they aren't below Purdue or Vandy but there are several Group of 5 programs that are better than Purdue/Vandy every year. It turns out being in a Power 5 conference doesn't make a school's program better than all G5 schools. Also, lol at espn using all time Power 5 statistics this past season. Good way to try to erase the Big East from CFB history.

BYU is reliably a top 60 program, and more importantly since they're an independent they're also readily available. It's not like they're Army or something, I don't see the what the problem is here.
