Does anyone else have an Air Dock? I got one from a fellow goon and was really looking forward to it but honestly I'm quite disappointed with it. I don't have room on my dash and it's illegal in MN to have anything on the windshield and it seems so far aways anyways so I got myself the CD slot mount. Well that broke after 5 minutes because of the weight of the charger and phone. Not too happy with it.

I probably have a mental disorder though because I can't help but feel that the Nexus S looked and felt the best in-hand. It was slicker than snot, never worked right, lacked a notification light, and had a screen that was only equalled in its dismal color representation by its lack of longevity and poor resolution but I can't help but feel nostalgic for it. It felt and looked so nice and was nigh indestructable.

Is it inevitable with any sort of Android phone for Android to throw out the contents of tabs you aren't looking at and have to re-render/refresh a tab when you switch tabs? I have a Galaxy Nexus and this happens with the stock browser, Chrome, and Firefox, and it's absolutely infuriating. Googling the issue turned up little real information but a lot of flame wars, "creepy"pasta, Engrish, and conspiracy theories. The closest I came to finding an answer was some post that talked about how Android has extremely aggressive memory management, even when the system is nowhere close to being out of memory, and Android doesn't have virtual memory of any kind because of reasons.

If I format and then fill an SD card to capacity with dick pics, does it overwrite all sectors enough to make any old data unrecoverable? How about the all of the user accessible internal storage on a phone with no SD card?

On paper it's mid-shelf specs for the price of a Moto G. Presumably because intel and Asus are trying to buy market share. I'm in the 5% of americans who would benefit from a dual-sim phone (I carry a personal phone and a work phone), so if it doesn't suck I'll probably pick one up. In other budget handset news, HTC is apparently releasing a Moto G rival. Looks like it has slightly better specs than the G's.

My boss' Droid Bionic finally got the Ol' Yeller treatment it has so richly deserved for so long. Verizon is currently offering a free upgrade to an LG G3, but $100 for a black Moto X (only $50 for the football leather backed one), or $150 for the Droid Turbo, which were the three phones I was going to recommend to him. Reviews on the G3 seem to be pretty positive; what's the thread consensus, since if I tell him that one's free, it's probably the one he'll go for?

I'd recommend the Turbo. The extra battery life is super handy and it's just all around a solid device. It's something he'll presumably be keeping for awhile and Motorola seems pretty solid on updates as well which is nice so $150 is pretty cheap.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Moto X and the Droid Turbo, which is why I figured I'd recommend them. I think for the extra $50, yeah, totally the Turbo. I'd never heard of the G3 before, but it seems like for free it's a hell of a phone. Oh, and I'm definitely open to other recommendations, they just have to be phones available on-contract with Verizon. The other free phones I was looking at were the Droid MAXX and Galaxy S4, but I'm betting the G3 beats them out substantially. Weirdly, the G2 is $30.

The G3 does seem like a good phone for the price (unlocked it is several hundred dollars cheaper than any of the other flagships) but it does suffer from some infuriating issues with software, and while the screen may have heaps of resolution and looks pretty good it definitely isn't what I'd call great. As a total aside this is definitely the worst screen burn I've seen: Display Galaxy S5. You'd think Samsung would have noticed by now and designed a demo reel that avoids this from happening.
