That's a Mini Coupe. Have seen them in person and they look really cool, much more so than that picture makes it seem. They look much better then the fat Minis they came out with a couple years ago.

You should feel out your friend for taste preference first, whisky varies so much and an expensive bottle can easily taste like crap to someone who does not like smoke for example. I prefer sherry finished, warm and sweet whiskies. If you were buying for me I would like something like Highland Park 18. A good safe no brainer is Amrut Fusion, it won 3rd place in worlds finest whisky in Jim Murrays 2010 guide. Incredible taste.

Balvenie Doublewood is my go-to for people who've never had scotch. It's half aged in sherry-barrels so it's pretty mild, almost sweet.
