It's kind of hard to get a sense of scale from the picture. The dragons don't share kit, for instance, is huuuuge.

I'm international wave 1 I think but haven't seen anything yet from Reaper...wishing now I could have gotten all the paint they were offering (to go with all the paint I got in Bones 1) and the mouslings (because hey cool), but at least I have the Terrasque and a few other things on the way.

Well a quick inventory says I have all the packages I should. Now to go through and inventory the contents of each package. :sweatdrop:

One thing I've seen a couple times already: the multi-part figures come pre-glued again, but the assembly seems to be lower quality, like a part might not be seated properly. With that in mind, I actually wish the multi-part models just came in pieces, since, for example, the undead dude sitting on the throne will be a bitch to paint pre-assembled. That being said, it's actually proving to not be so big a deal, because the glue used is maybe a different formulation than before, and a lot of these I can actually disassemble them. Chimera's goat head was glued in all wonky as hell, but a little bit of twisting and pulling and I've got the whole model broken down to its components with no damage whatsoever. :)

Well, I figured I might as well make the best of reaper accidentally shipping me a 3-year-old: we're going through the boxes and she's learning about minotaurs and swords and maces and poo poo, she seems pretty excited about the whole thing.

Speaking of, does the boiling water then ice bath method restore them to the natural shape by itself or do you have to reshape it when its still warm?

In my experience it varies a bit from figure to figure, but you're basically going to get whatever shape it goes to once warm if you freeze it again--so you'll end up wanting to combine whatever shape it 'relaxes' to with some minor guiding / adjusting by hand before you cool it again.

Inventory complete. I was sooooooo close to 100% perfect. The only error was that this dude:

came with two left horns and no right horn. I'm thinking I probably don't even care, I mean he's a demon, maybe having two left horns is why he's so ornery.

Otherwise, I guess I got an extra part, a little lumpy stalagmite thing that was in the Thank You set, but isn't on the picture and I can't find it anywhere in any of the sets. So maybe it was just a late add. :)

Well this sounds like good news for the RoW and possibly USPS folks:

quote:

Well, we've now been informed by the carrier that they will only send trucks to us to pick up the pallets of shipments in one batch. Once we call tonight to request the first carrier pickup, we have to continue with Postal shipments until we're done. This was not how had originally understood it to work, so we are having to change our plan.

The net effect will be that we will now process all remaining International (sometimes called ROW, or Rest Of World) shipments next. That is, now that International Wave 2's are complete, we'll move on to International Wave 3, then International Wave 4, etc. Only after all International orders are shipped can we switch back to Domestic. We will then work Domestic orders in Wave Order, until complete.

Got my UPS tracking number (RoW, Wave 1), didn't expect it so soon. I can understand people raging in the comments but after Bones 1 they should know that there will be a huge number of orders to fill out, it won't go as smoothly as anyone thinks and it will take longer than anyone thinks.

I do a warm sopy water dip, shake it around a little, then throw it in clean water bucket to rinse. Might be overkill, though.

You need soap to break down any degreasing agent on plastic and metal models. If Bones use molds, I would imagine it would be the same for them.

I also do a quick scrub with a toothbrush while it's in the soapy water to get into all the grooves/details, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend that with Bones (both because of the somewhat softer material and the less sharp details).

Is it metal, and did you order the shadow dragon (Verocithrax)?

If yes to both, it's probably the prop they had to add to stop his bendy rear end constantly falling over.

It's bonesium, and I did not order any exclusive dragons except Dragons Don't Share and the one that was included in one of the expansions. And the piece in question was in the Thank You expansion, so if it was something they added as a prop to a dragon, I'm not sure why they'd put it there, since it's not a sure thing that every Verocithrax order that needed it would also get the Thank You set. I dunno. I'd get a picture of the thing but it's since been mixed into The Pile and I can't seem to find it on reaper's site. It's like a lumpy little stalagmite, a little over an inch tall, not a particularly noteworthy piece (but is clearly a sculpt and isn't just, say, me being dumb about a bit of sprue.) :iiam:

The Verocithrax thing is sealed in the Verocithrax box.

Of course, now that I've got my stuff I find that I've misplaced my glue, so it's going to be a couple of days before I get to see what everything looks like put together.

Packing error in your favor, collect one extra Expansion 1.

2013 Core Set ($100) x1 100.00
Dungeon Monsters ($7) x1 7.00
Gnolls & Bugbears ($9) x1 9.00
Greater Demons ($12) x1 12.00
Water Elementals ($10) x1 10.00
Mashaaf, Great Old One ($12) x1 12.00
Expansion Set 1 ($50) x1 50.00
Total: $200

They threw in two boxes of Expansion 1, and everything else seems to be there, though I haven't gone figure by figure yet. Hurray?
