That's a point. I've got a 32gb micro SD card on the way. Will that suffice? I've heard mixed things about it not supporting anything bigger etc. Unless I'm an idiot who misinterprets things.

I upgraded to a 32 though because it was so cheap!

Hey, now that it's been a few months and the hype has died down, do people still like Fantasy Life? I'm still kind of interested in getting it and it sounds like the kind of game my wife would love since she's bonkers for Harvest Moon, but chatter about that game has dropped straight to zero around here.Jim Silly-Balls posted:I really like nsmb1 and nsmb wii, so I fully expect to like nsmb2. If you want it, now would be the time since it's one of the final Club Nintendo rewards and there are people in SA-Mart willing to buy it for you with points at deep discounts. Personally I think it's a tad boring to play single-player, but it's a lot more fun to play with a friend (not download-play though, both players need a copy of the game). You don't even really have to worry about killing each other with dick moves, because you don't lose a life unless you're both dead / bubbled at the same time.

Final Q - is it a standard USB charging slot? I know they don't include a charger in the box, just wondering whether I actually need to get one at all, or whether it's the same as, say, the cable for the WiiU Pro Controller.

What about Story of Seasons? It's coming out pretty soon, although I don't know how hyped up it is. Apparently it's the "real" Harvest Moon, even though it is no longer allowed to call itself Harvest Moon

No, it's a proprietary connector. You will need to go to Gamestop or Amazon or the NOA online store or something to get one.

Maybe someone can help me, because so far my 3DS -> N3DS transfer is a big failure. I followed the guide and did the system transfer, no problem. Then I copied the contents of my 3DS' SD card to a new 32GB microSD, via PC/USB. Aaaand... nothing. None of my games recognize the save data. Was it supposed to also transfer the eShop games? Because they don't show up either. What did I do wrong?

So GBA is definitely a thing. GBA on 3DS is a hackjob. It basically drops the 3DS into DS mode and loses a lot of functionality because of it. The games "don't meet" Nintendo's standards so they refuse to release them elsewhere.

You can also get higher capacity SDXC cards (e.g. 64gb, 128gb) which come formatted with a newer filesystem exFat. You can use an SDXC card on the 3DS fine if you format it as Fat32, though you may need to track down a program to do that for you in Windows. Physically SDHC and SDXC are the same, the capacity/filesystem thing seems to be to ensure wider compatibility with different devices. 32gb will be fine unless you're planning on having a really massive library of games digitally on the card at all times.

Once I do the system transfer, in order to upgrade my SD card can I do the ol' drag n dump to PC? I have to say that the New 3DS is reminding me so much of the upgrade from GBA to GBA-SP... it's like I can finally experience these games for the first time. I'm actually having a ton of fun with old games like Pilotwings and Ridge Racer simply because the 3D finally works and I can see the games for how they were meant to be seen. Also, playing rhythm games in 3D is blowing my mind... previously the amount of tapping prevented me from even considering playing games like Theatrhythm or Rhythm Thief in 3D, but now I wouldn't think of not playing them in 3D.

You know how with DS games on the 3DS you can still hit the Home button to bump yourself back into the 3DS menu, and you can close the 3DS to put the DS into sleep mode? The GBA Ambassador games don't do any of that.

So I'm about to pull the trigger on getting a nu3ds. Other than a larger memory card and a hori screen protector, is there anything else I should be getting? I am probably going to pick up MH4. Trying to decide on one or two other games to pick up as well. I'm in the same boat as the other goon that just picked one up, I've never played any of the DS games ever and the last time I played Zelda was back on the NES.

If that doesn't work then ??? You can go to the eshop and try to download a game you k ow you bought to see if your licence transfered properly. You may have lost your saves if nothing works but you can redownload stuff.

If you don't have any eShop games or any save data, it sounds like you didn't copy things across correctly. Make sure that you copy the full "Nintendo 3DS" folder (or whatever it's called) from the old SD card to your PC, then copy that entire folder to the root of the microSD. There shouldn't be anything else on the microSD.
