Some time prior to SB-270, I had read an article that talked about how San Diego was considering a plastic bag ban. The comments section was filled with people who complained that it was a conspiracy to line the pockets of grocery store chains 'cause people would have to buy the plastic/paper bags ('cause plastic bags are "free" as long as you don't see it on the receipt, right?) or buy the store's reusable bags. Or, you know, you could use any ol' reusable bag that you already have lying around the house.

I was born and raised near Camp Pendleton, and still live here. The biggest problem I've noticed over the years about this is that a lot of people who are from other parts of the country that get out of the military stay here. However, they incessantly bitch and complain about how poo poo California is as a whole but would never go back to where they're from.

My step dad whom lives in Idaho is from California originally, he always worked in public sector jobs and he only moved to be closer to his now dead wives family. He gets retirement money from his own work as well as the retirement money from his dead wife. (she worked in the sheriff's office).
He hates California with a passion I can not even begin to understand. The guy was a local cop, a federal cop and a bunch of random poo poo in between.
He has a great life story and I actually sat down with him and fleshed it all out when I was writing a paper on Aging. He was a great source study and a good human being. Of course, he has to be a complete rear end in a top hat every other day, but I could never really figure out why he was so mad.

Yeah it's actually pretty diverse; Irvine seems pretty liberal on and naer campus, but not so much when you move away from campus. There are plenty of minorities that swung hard from Bush in 2004 to Obama over the past two elections.

OC society has largely forgotten this terrorist past, so much so that the ensuing decades found Klukkers rehabilitating their image and hiding their past so that future generations immortalized them in the form of buildings, parks, schools and streets named in their honor—a quiet victory for the Invisible Empire. So what better way to remind us of this rancid history than to get a model to pose in a Klan robe in front of their monuments? The following is just a smidgen of the many Klan names that are part of Orange County civic life ...
