He gets retirement money from his own work as well as the retirement money from his dead wife. (she worked in the sheriff's office). He hates California with a passion I can not even begin to understand. The guy was a local cop, a federal cop and a bunch of random poo poo in between. He has a great life story and I actually sat down with him and fleshed it all out when I was writing a paper on Aging. He was a great source study and a good human being. Of course, he has to be a complete rear end in a top hat every other day, but I could never really figure out why he was so mad.

Yeah it's actually pretty diverse; Irvine seems pretty liberal on and naer campus, but not so much when you move away from campus.
