Wow this is the best Meltzer I've read in a while (from the latest archive issue, talking about Kevin Nash):quote:Nobody was exactly clear as to the actual story, as there were also reports it was thought to be a heart attack but actually a bad case of indigestion (which medically that mistake is not unusual to be made) causing massive chest pains, or massive chest pains from an anxiety attack suffered due to stress because his father-in-law has a serious health problem, which coincidentally enough is the exact same problem Undertaker had a few weeks ago which caused his blood pressure and heartbeat to go through the roof and caused him to miss a house show, and the health problem is said to be the same life-threatening health problem that Undertaker's father is undergoing. Edit: I'll always love the HHH/Meltzer feud quote:Despite having one of the best heads of hair in the business, when it comes to production in the ring, Hunter Hearst Helmsley was overall an average wrestler in 1996 and an average wrestler in 1997. Interesting issue for sure triplexpac fucked around with this message at 22:48 on Mar 2, 2015 |

gently caress that Starrcade review is nasty. Also, quote:Shamrock beat Kama Mustafa with an ankle lock. After the match, The Rock came out and said that Shamrock would now have to face Faarooq next week. Faarooq looked majorly po'd about The Rock acting like he was in control and ordering him around. The Rock/Faarooq stuff has great chemistry. This stuff is fun to watch because Rock is a charisma machine and it's great watching him week by week more and more turn into the Rock. Also, Raw sold out two weeks in a row. quote:Raw opened with Austin saying he was going to be there a lot during the show. Which is one way of putting it. Or as Stone Cold would put it... Stone Cold posted:Everyone in that drat locker room has got a pager. And everyone that looks at the pager sees the 316 so their rear end belongs to me. Steve Austin is going to do unto others before they do unto him, so set your little channels and sit your rear end back don't touch the dial because Steve Austin is gonna raise hell as only Steve Austin can raise hell and that's it. Get your rear end outta here.

Pretty ridiculous how easy Bryan went on that ROH main event when he has a aneurysm every time WWE does bad booking even when it's inconsequential midcard fluff. Double standards~

Double standards~ Well, the difference is WWE does it on a very regular basis whereas ROH doesn't. They didn't approve of the ROH booking by any means, but it didn't inspire an angry reaction because they don't have to watch ROH do it every single week over and over

Idk if you listened to the Bryan and Vinny show but it wasn't like he didn't like it but was willing to cut them some slack because it's out of character, he just didn't see a problem with it at all

Haha, Bryan's dream is for his Death of WCW book to end up grossing more than what WCW was sold for, and apparently they're halfway there already.

a.) Last night's, and b.) Yes But it's such a short segment it wouldn't be worth subscribing just for that. They barely talked about it for five minutes.

Does anyone else happen to use Downcast? I bought the subscription to MLW Radio, but I can't get the friggin' thing to look up the members-only podcasts. And I'm lazy about actually trying to do it manually. I may have to do that, though.

gently caress me, WWE's just leaving themselves wide open for lawsuits, isn't it? Seems clear as day that DeMott is a terrible trainer and he's only there to see who's stupid enough to put up with his bullshit so they'll do as they're told when they get called up. fart blood posted:I kinda wonder how guys like KENTA, Devitt, Steen, etc would react to Demott's actions if he tried that on them (assuming this is all true.) Well, Steen is a Zoo Enthusiast and they have quite a few gator parks in Orlando, I'm sure he could use one of his zoo visits to give the gators a nice 300-pound snack (or however fat DeMott is these days).

fart blood posted:I kinda wonder how guys like KENTA, Devitt, Steen, etc would react to Demott's actions if he tried that on them (assuming this is all true.) Firstly this memo is like 2 years old. Demott has had several talkings to since and is on thin ice now. Like I've been saying Regal has been gaining power while Demott's has decreased. MetsFan's scoops were kind of correct about the NXT 5 being a clique with Triple H. Those guys do go over Bill's head. Demott was recently an agent for one of their matches on a live special, Bill laid out a dog poo poo match so one of them went to Triple H and Demott was told off. Bill was removed from being an agent in that match. Gonzo McFee posted:gently caress me, WWE's just leaving themselves wide open for lawsuits, isn't it? I believe it was Devlin himself who recently sued WWE via an insurance company and won. As we always talk about Richie Steamboat, James Bronson etc remain silent on what happened to them. The widely held thought is that they were paid off.

They had Hugh Morris try and lay out a match for one of those four. Jesus loving Christ. Why do they need a drill Sargent breaking guys with gruelling workouts? Are those skills really going to be needed when they're wrestling a two minute tag match that ends in DQ on Raw?

Again, not trying to defend Demott, but I'd say one of the most important skills a wrestler can have in the modern style is cardio. So it would make sense for basically all the drills to be cardio & bumping for a long while. It's not like you can just skip all that, do your 2 minute Raw matches, then all of a sudden train cardio when Vince decides to put you in a main event on a whim. Not saying you should be pushing guys so hard they get injured, though. Obviously you can take the training too far.
