Realistically though even the T6 bugship is a piece of crap because Intel Escorts exist with cloaking devices. Classic hide attack noob > bugship. Pity PVP & the rest of the game is dead in the water.

Last night I saw a bugship at 250mil and the JHEC at the same price. Listed my JHEC, since it's value has went up by 100mil thanks to pubbies wanting that console set bonus for their JHSS. Thanks again Shutup Wesley for Wesley Christmas. Time to buy me another Astika.

I started asking in goonchat, but figured I'll continue asking here to not clog things up. I'm looking to get my ship and all more current, but with the state of game what it is, I'm not looking to go all balls out top end upgrading. Last time I did any serious gear/ship upgearing was when the voth stuff was new, so I know all my crap's in need of work. I'm currently using a mirror assault escort that I was following the cheap escort build on the wesleywiki. I did get suggestions on going with a Nicor, Manasa, or Phantom if I wanted to stick with escorts, but cruisers being an option was mentioned. I really don't know much on cruisers since last time I tried one, it was slow as gently caress to move. From what was said, that's not quite the issue that it was. Equally while I'm with the DHC/Turret workup, I'm open to go with something else like a Beambuild. I'd like to keep costs low where I can if that helps the suggestions any.

Beams are much better than cannons these days and there's lot of fairly nimble cruisers to choose from. What's your budget in terms of zen/EC? If you can afford one off the exchange the Astika is a really good cruiser and it comes with an insanely good ship trait.

So I'd grab that. It'll unlock a ship trait that gives a big bonus to power levels when you use beam fire at will which you can and should use on any beam build. I'd sell that zen for dil, you'll need a bunch for upgrading gear and the price of zen is currently spiked thanks to the new bugship promo. You'll be able to rebuy any zen you need at a good profit once the market calms down. Alternatively you can use some of that zen to grab the promo packs to sell on the exchange. They're 4 for 1000 zen and will fetch about 7-8 mil each. Just don't actually open the packs unless you like gambling and hate spacemoney.
