My BB has a 29 sec reload, by the time I was ready to fire there were two squadrons of bombers less than 4km out and I barely had time to maneuver much less fire off a salvo at any target. I did manage to shoot one bomber down so I only had to eat 11 torpedoes not 12. CVE: Escort carrier. A small, slower airfield not intended for frontline duty. Except for the ones that were. LIGHT TANKS DD: Destroyer. Small guns, torpedoes and zoom zoom. Except for the ones Germany made, they had big guns. DE: Destroyer escort. Same as before, except smaller and not as much zoom. Good for killing submarines. We don't care because there are no submarines (ahem, submersibles, technically. Submersibles stay on the surface quite a bit. Submarines are intended to remain underwater for most of the time, like the late war German and Japanese designs) in WoWS. PC: Patrol craft. This means a lot of poo poo depending upon who made it. A boat with guns? Yep, patrol craft. MTB: Motor torpedo boats. These are fun and so are not in the game. TANK DESTROYERS are submar- submersibles. gently caress wargaming. hope this helps there are of course more than this and other ships which don't fit into any one category alone and designations have changed since then, so modern destroyers are kinda like cruisers and destroyers had a baby bote

CB makes plenty of sense. The Alaskas were big nasty cruisers but they definitely weren't armored to battleship standards, so calling them battlecruisers gives the wrong impression. Basically they're heavy cruisers from a world where the treaties never happened and the size race happened after wwi as well as before. Not a match for a bb or bc, but they'd slam dunk cruisers and dds.

Battlecruisers weren't armored to battleship standard either though (with a few late german outliers), they were *armed* to BB standard though. The difference between a CB, BC and Fast BB can be pretty small depending on which era you pick from though.

Next time on Missing Name's Boatsperg Hour, I'll discuss the differences in battlecruiser doctrine between the Germans and British in the years leading up to WWI, during, and afterwards, up until WWII. It had no underwater protection, but the rest of the armor was strong, designed to withstand up to 11" shells. It had way more armour than most WW1 battlecruisers. Of course, the whole "we'll use it to hunt down those Japanese cruisers!" plan kind of fizzled out as planes and submarines got to work. With ships like Iowa and Vanguard the role of battlecruisers was pretty much over anyways when you had 45k displacement ships doing 30 knots and carrying battleship armor and guns.

It's a Bad French Hetzer. Also, the stock gun is the same as on the ARL V39. Since neither the S35 or the V39 are gated behind guns you will sometimes see pubbie V39s with the stock gun or the second gun instead of the 90 or 105 from the S35.
