A significant amount of complaint are that Southern Californians are ridiculously frivolous, not that the North produces all its own water. My great joy right now is listening to all of the local SD sports talk show guys and the UT acting as sycophantic mouthpieces for the Chargers. When the stadium group announced it was focusing on the Mission Valley site, they all had a conniption fit and swore that that was the end of it and the Chargers were leaving. It's also starting to see a pretty big boom of thriving companies (especially breweries). They're already planning on extending the trolley lines up to UTC so adding another few miles or so to the East wouldn't hurt. It's easier to work with than staying where Qualcomm is, anyways.
