Just got back from Baylor's Spring Game. It was cozy and wet and nice. LaQuan McGowan, our 400lb tight end caught a pass and nearly murdered the FS for 25 yards, so that was fun. Seth Russell looked pretty good, Chris Johnson looked pretty bad, and Jarrett Stidham looked like a very talented true freshman. Saw some nice things on both ends of the field. Also, a 400lb Tight End caught a pass for 25 yards and was one dropped ball away from having two catches on the day. Baylor is going to have another Sumo Wrestler Touchdown this year, guys. Possibly more than one. Also, Baylor's DBs got beat for big catches a few times, but at least to my eyes and a few others they seem to be getting their head around to focus on the ball a lot more frequently than they have in the past, which is an encouraging thought. https://instagram.com/p/0eHV7evB3J/ Spiritus Nox fucked around with this message at 03:43 on Mar 21, 2015 |

Every conference BYU had been in, and even the NCAA tournament have worked around it. I don't see it happening because Stanford and Cal don't want BYU in their conference for political reasons. The Sunday sports thing is an excuse. Although the two are related since they both stem from the Mormon church's ownership if the school.

Punting taking away a point would be kind of interesting. I mean, it would probably completely ruin the game, but I'm for anything that makes real football more like playing the NCAA games with your drunk roommates.

A pick six or fumble to touchdown should be for sure -6, to -8 depending on PAT or 2 point conversion for the team that lost the ball to begin with.

Honestly, this would place appropriate PPG blame on the offense. Just for perception. Man, Muschamp's PPG would've been incredi-bad. Like it was already incredibly bad, but it would force contraction from the vacuum.

Field goals should be worth a point for every ten yard increment. Missed field goals should be -2 points.

We should collectively agree on an alternate scoring system that includes point deductions/increases, then run a season-long thread posting final scores for all games.

For offense's sake we should award bonus points to trick play TDs and scoring plays >80 yards. Fat man TDs are worth double for defenses and 1.5x for offenses(sneaking an OT out as a receiver isn't as awesome as some DT picking a pass at the line and rumbling 60 yards for the score).

I would be down with this. It would be kind of neat to see how things turn out with something a little more silly. We should only do it if a team can be so bad that they get into the negatives though.
