Archeage is one of the few games where I had a lot of fun at the peak, yet actually regret playing. I'm kind of curious to see if Archeage was a massive financial failure for Trion, or did it do exactly as expected (Make a shitton of early money, who cares about longevity as they didn't pay initial development costs).

Lobby? who knows but im invested in this game to the degree that i cant even remember the name of my guild unless i log in. I have how ever farmed everything for the car myself (other than the mysterious garden powder, because gently caress the combat in the game is dull), and just waiting on the stupid timber coupe to be released. Then i can leave knowing i won.

There are "lobbies" for each floor, which are really just town-like zones with npc vendors and mailboxes and whatnot. You can buy scrolls that teleport you to each one if you're really lazy and don't want to go through the floors in sequence.

Yeah don't touch this game. There's a few diamonds in the rough as far as gaming mechanics go but the publisher stopped giving half a flying rat's gently caress about the game years ago and Trion took a massive, steaming, Taco Bell-poo poo on what was left to suck as much cash out as quickly as possible.

If the endgame at 55 is even remotely as grindy as it was a 50, you're going to have a miserable time trying to pvp, especially since the community is dying down.

I usually don't get into MMO's until a year or so after launch. There's a lot that's interesting about the game such as the farming aspect and the massive amount of class combinations. There are essentially 120 classes! The playerbase seems pretty anemic.

You can change your current health via a file in your own client install and remove any debuff, like the one that prevents you from chaingunning fireballs or whatever. Getting a suspension prevents you from logins. You need to contact customer service to appeal your suspension. Also CoC and ToS violations are incredibly inconsistent. Service in general is widely inconsistent, the older your account the more poo poo you're likely to get away with. They also don't take the sexism, harassment, or other parts of the their TOS/COC seriously at all, and If you own a castle I'm pretty sure you could start a child pornography ring and they wouldn't do anything until it hit CNN. (Because it's unlikely they actually can do anything that wouldn't break the server) But it also manages to go the other way, where you'll just get banned for a week for no reason. Probably because you pissed off somebody with a GM friend. Basically stay away. Go play black desert or some other bad game and you can run into the exact same assholes.

Hey now, XLGames hasn't abandoned it. Korea is up to 1.8 now, and every other version but Trion's is at 1.7 or will launch at 1.7. XL has made maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany bad decisions, but only Trion is treating Archeage like a blatant cashgrab nowadays.

that's the frustrating thing about it yea. like i have fun every day logging in and tending to my crops and stuff, it's farmville with pvp, but it's annoying that the version that's in English is the worst one. i feel like if there was another company handling the game it'd be way more competitive. trion has been trying to get better lately but still pretty far from satisfactory the RNG boxes are just the worst lol. i'm not sure if the guy who came up with them, or the people who spend hundreds of dollars on them are worse.
