Not just "big pillars you can't see around", but stuff like the hated Black Triangle. Ask him to slap around whichever developer did tires and traction because someone needs to feel some pain for it.

Haha, I'm the opposite, never went to the Thunderdome but I've seen hundreds of mod and sprint races there. Have you been to the new MX track they built yet?

atomicthumbs posted:When was the last time you played it? IIRC he said something about them switching to a better tire model at some point in the last few months. Yeah I recently saw you can get a Steam key for BeamNG and ended up deleting an old version and updating to the steam version and everything definitely feels a lot more stable than it did before. I'm having too much fun lining up several cars and ramps and setting up wild collisions. That Speed Canyon map is excellent, btw.

The steam version also has the T-series semi truck, which has so many beams they had to split the simulation across two threads drive it around and watch the chassis flex! turn at speed and break your tie rods!

A few weeks ago I guess.. the traction is better than it used to be but cars still feel super floaty. Tiny little bumps or soft touches with the wheel love to make cars spin out even at "reasonable" speeds of 60 mph.

Memento posted:A bunch of 80s/early 90s Japanese cars had all sorts of poo poo that either activated at speed or could be activated with the press of a button. I had a Mazda Familia that you could adjust the ride height with the press of a button, that particular thing is a Japanese production Skyline HR31 GTS-X in which the spoiler dropped over 60mph, the first Mitsubishi GT3000s had suspension that lowered over a certain speed, etc etc. It was almost all completely masturbatory, but it was also completely The R32 GTS-t had one that could be button operated as standard. Also there was like a million different 4WS designs, speed sensitive power steering designs and variable damping shocks operated by a button. This craze hasn't gone away, it's just modern JDM cars have gimmicks that are less performance orientated and more just random interior-related tomfoolery like switchable mode speaker surround lights and other random poo poo. I guess the Japanese just love silly gadgets?

I switched to an xbox controller and I can actually drive the cars now.

It's a good thing superchargers are such low-energy devices, and never explode in a fiery burst of shrapnel. Because as far as I can tell the only way to ride that is with your helmet directly to either side or above it.
