I actually looked at the opening credits of Condorman last night, trying to decide if I needed to re-visit it. I decided "no".

The Time Dissolver posted:My French is really awful, is "Une prehistoire de ouf" punning on something? "Oeuf"? The English "earth"? "Ouf" is verlan, which is a type of suburbs slang (it's not the same type of surburbs as in the US) where you pronounce words in reverse. (Verlan is verlan for "à l'envers", "reversed"). Ouf is a common term, it's "fou" (crazy) reversed. A common expression is "Un truc de ouf" (something crazy). This movie's tagline means "A crazy prehistory!" Funnily enough, Jamel Debbouze (big time French stand up comic) voiced the monkey character in Disney's Dinosaurs. Kurtofan fucked around with this message at 16:09 on Apr 4, 2015 |

I guess him using an arm sling stretches the prehistoric versimilitude, or something, IDK Maybe it's deliberate, it's meant to be a French comedy, after all? It's based on a little-known book called, 'The Evolution Man, or, How I Ate My Father ', so maybe it's a plot element direct from that?
