windows 8's photo and video importing tool is crashy piece of poo poo. it's nothing like the praised file copying dialog (because it's a lovely metro app), it actually shows almost no progress information and many times when i press the "select all" button, the program selects all the photos or videos, waits a second or two and then crashes. unsurprisingly the windows 7 photo import dialog is actually a shitload better, if a bit plain.

im 4000 posts behind, did you guys already talk about thishttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035583 posted:This update enables additional capabilities for Windows Update notifications when new updates are available to the user. It applies to a computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Mystery patch KB 3035583 for Windows 7 and 8 revealed posted:Once the update is downloaded it adds a folder to System32 called "GWX" which contains 9 files and a folder called "Download". One of the four .EXE files reveals what the update really is, the description of GWXUXWorker.EXE states, "Download Windows 10″. This explains the X in the name, the X is the Romanian [sic] number 10. because lol im so glad i googled that update number before i installed it

is it really that different from the upgrade prompts that mavericks / yosemite would slide in from the notification area and show on the updates page of the app store? other that those oses being good, i mean.

for the first time since using windows 3.11 as a babby i was confused with how to close a window in my operating system's window manager that layout happens naturally, which is a surprise to me because it looks like some poorly thought out litestep scheme soon, one billion inattentive office workers will be closing the wrong window, not expecting to save changes and as a result lose billions of hours worth of unsaved drafts, but at least things look modern now that they've removed all window borders also, in again trying to fix the mail, calendar and people problem again i've found the wonderful casino game of finding out what you see when you type in control panel into cortana, its never consistent sometimes you get control panel & pc settings, sometimes two control panels, i once got three control panel app links but no pc settings, if you type 'control' fast enough it takes you to 'controllers' and when you close the failed search window you get a big text box announcing that 'NELLY HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN TENNESSEE ON DRUG CHARGES" thank you operating system, for keeping me up to date on Nelly
