Remember now there is no such thing as pinup or softcore wank material in mainstream superhero comics and any acknowledgement of such must be met with dozens of arguments about how all the men are idealized forms too and thus there is no such thing as pinup or softcore wank material in mainstream superhero comics.

Isn't it really weird how the market for softcore lesbian imagery is vast and unsubtle, but the male version is so much more wary? I won't say it's not there, it totally is (hi Alex Ross) but the lesbian subtext seems like it's a major selling point for a lot of books. Personally I am okay with this because holy poo poo lesbians :circlefap:

Sheez dude that's Storm obv

it's awesome how every one of them has totally different lighting (often impossible)

I also like how he toned down Storm's giant cameltoe glare in the pencil version

Second from right is supposed to be Storm going on the costume. Guess drawing a woman who's ethnicity isn't 'generic white pornstar clone' is out of his range.

Edit: Beaten. He just replaced the generic face with Tyra banks on the colour one.

Greg Horn's covers have a distinct "porn stash found in the woods" look to them.

It's the traditional 'boob-pouch' of spandex, as seen in all your favourite comics and animes.

I like how he really doesn't trust himself or the viewer to conclude that titties are round so he has to put really blatant highlight/reflection coloring all the way around each titty like there's an invisible circular flourescent bulb around each one of them - actually it probably really is lit just this way in poser or whatever he uses, with nonsense lights set up to provoke that reflection but themselves excluded from rendering.

It makes a profound statement on the mindset of comics publishers and how they feel about their readers. Which is probably very statistically and economically justified I guess.

It's called the ground when it's outside.

Because they're clearly now outside. It's raining on the couch and everyone's wet and shiny. There's a closed umbrella lying on the floor ground behind them.

It's probably a metaphor.

I don't recall Capullo ever having a Liefeld influence or drawing X-Factor. He did Quasar and X-Force, and the style is pretty similar to what he does today. He had the stretch drawing Spawn where he took on some McFarlane characteristics but still kept his own style, but he's gotten away from that.

Someone recently posted this Capullo Cable in some thread, mistakenly complaining about Liefeld.

If you really look at that vs the other guy, the difference is there. It's much better crafted, but he was still well in that 1992 territory.

As dumb as that is, it's not Greg Horn's fault. Her GI Joe figure came with a weapon identified as a 'power crossbow' that was basically exactly that. Artists usually interpret it as a scoped pistol with a crossbow bow grafted on to the front for no reason. There is no identifiable way to load the 'bow' in most renderings I've ever seen.
