I used to think the same way, that voting left in the local elections is what matters so it doesn't matter who you pick upticket, so I voted Green at the top. Unless you're a single-issue voter like Enigma who appears only to care about foreign policy (and thus you actually care about the rest of your fellow Americans), then giving the contest to the GOP, even indirectly, is just the worst thing you can do. Accelerationism is already in effect on some places if you think about it, and it en't looking like things are getting better. I like Bernie and plan to vote for him in the primary before Hillary annihilates him. That said, total republican control at the federal level scares the poo poo out of me, so I'll pull the lever for Clinton when the time comes.  The important part is that as many progressives are voting as possible, really.
