I did notice that JP2 is better for higher tier game since you're going to be penetrated anyway so mobility is your best friend. tbh I never got why pubbies called it a bad tank compared to Ferdinand (well, pubbies).

If I have it right, Porsche was so confident in his proposal for the Tiger that he ordered like 200 hulls. When his design lost the competition they were converted into Ferdinands and Elefants. If it weren't so mechanically unreliable it could have been really successful, but the same can be said about most of the German tanks after the Panzer IV. Not that it was a good design, it had no machine guns or other ways to deal with infantry, but thick armour and a big gun can count for a lot.

I hate the WTE100, what an unfun piece of poo poo to play. Getting 3k damage feels worthless and getting 8k damage feels boring as poo poo. I genuinely enjoy killing them though. :Edit: Wargaming released a sort of weird video to celebrate victory day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H4boOCeX54 Basically its that scene from Fury but with a noble Russian in it. maev fucked around with this message at 11:25 on May 4, 2015 |

I've heard that it's very strong in tier eight, okay in nine, and shabby in ten. Which is probably the best you could hope for considering it's a fat T-44. Haven't bought my own yet though so iunno. In other news, if you didn't notice, there are missions for the Berlin tanks in-game, set to go active in three days.

EU missions panel. I believe that's actually a British Cromwell, it's just that it is in the Berlin occupation colours. I'm fairly sure the red and white insignia is that of the 7th Armoured Division, the Desert Rats. Christ almighty I want to punch the mush-mouthed cockney tit who keeps going on about 'the new fisics innit'. Lovely Joe Stalin fucked around with this message at 12:45 on May 4, 2015 |

quote:Ferdinand hate This is a bad opinion. If you're going up against incompetent players ( 9 times out 10) then your ferdi will bounce poo poo it has absolutely no right to. Even against competent players, if you wiggle your front or get in a position to hide your hull shoulders you can absolutely wreck poo poo. Fully upgraded, I think it's the ideal speed for getting yourself into a good position and not over extending yourself which you're liable to do in a JP2. Hell, the ferdi even gets 5 more degrees of gun traverse than the JP2 and about a degree more gun depression. I own both but the Ferdi will always be better in my books.

i need help with the cromwell. my medium playstyle is heavily based around placing terrain between myself and the enemy so i dont get hit and the cromwell is just so loving huge and has nowhere on the tank where it can allow itself to get hit kinda safely. i do well with other fast mediums around those tiers like the shermans or the tier 5/6 panzers, covenanter shooting tons of gold is my best tank i think because its super tiny so you can go into a ditch to become invulnerable. i do fine with every other fast medium around those tiers expect the cromwell which i just have way to many potato rounds on. PZ4 before they added the shields and shafted the insane acceleration was my spirit animal (75 not derp). I just want a tank plays the same way where you have the ability to cover up your tank well and amazing acceleration + above average soft stats. the shermans are just so tall profile wise that you are restricted to mostly hulldown stuff.
|
# ? May 4, 2015 14:02 |
|
on the pz4 i could take up absurdly aggresive positions because repositioning to somewhere safe was just so easy due to having amazing acceleration paired with a profile that made it very hard to hit behind minimal amounts of cover

According to rita status report, those tanks are on sale on the RU server, so it sounds like they'll be for sale, with in-game missions available if you buy the tanks. So, it sounds like you buy one of those tanks, get the double, then every match after that you can get 5x experience if you win and are in top 10 on your team.

Is there any benefit whatsoever to the upgraded M8A1 turret (The T87 turret)? I'm not doing well at all in this tank. My crew isn't fully trained up yet. So, despite the fact that I stuck a camo net on it, I feel like I get spotted and destroyed on the front end of pretty much every match. I figured the American turreted TD line would be good for someone with zero experience in TDs, but I believe I'm still driving the M8A1 very much like a light or medium tank, and I'm getting obliterated in one or two shots. How do you play this thing effectively?

I dunno about the specifics of that turret and tank, but turrets usually give boosts to view range, hp, armor, turret traverse, rate of fire, and gun handling. Not all turrets give all of these bonuses, and sometimes one or more of these categories will actually get worse. But upgraded turrets are virtually always worth it.

Looking at the stats (http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:M8A1), it appears there's no benefit. I went ahead and upgraded the turret anyway, and then I realized I probably should have upgraded the radio first (750 signal range vs 420). Oh well. I can't wait to get out of this TD, though. I get the feeling that it may actually be competent in the right hands, but I am absolutely terrible in it. I'm used to playing Russian heavies and mediums primarily. So, being stealthy and/or going unnoticed is not a skill I've mastered.

So compared to all the other tier 8 lights what is the WZ-132's thing? It seems pretty much worse in everything except for the really really amazing track traverse. I guess you are supposed to circle KV-4's and T34s to death?

An interesting observation of trolling in-game chat with politics: When trolling in support of Obama, people chastise him for being a socialist, etc. When trolling in support of Hillary, people chastise her for being a bitch, etc. When trolling in support of Dubya, people chastise him for starting the Iraq war. When trolling in support of Sanders, nothing.

Now it is just worthless compared to the RU251 and (from what I've heard) T54 Light. Its actual advantage is that it isn't the T-34-2, so if you want a WZ-120 have fun playing a bad tank.
